Highfox New Forest Ponies

Philippa and Highfox Fairytale’s second (and last)show of 2026, resulted in a win and Championship in the Home Produced M&M section and a win and Championship in the NF section. They ended the day on a high, being pulled out as one of the judge’s four top ponies in the Supreme/ Price Semi Final, at NPS Area 4’s Summer Show.

Philippa also stood in to run Jo’s lovely home bred three year old gelding (Arcade Fire), when classes clashed. He won his class and stood Reserve Champion.

Very sad to hear that Farriers Fingerprint is no longer with us. Buster was a big personality, a legend of a ridden pony and a lovely character. He lives on in his successful descendants (here through his son Samsons Spy’s children and grandchildren). A great loss to the Breed.

Most lovely day at Gargrave Show in the breath taking Yorkshire Dales. So busy, but so well organised, lovely going, nice ponies, friendly people and boiling hot. Few tears too when Faith and Pip won the Supreme Pony Championship, unexpected and all the better as Pip not eligible next year. Won lots of boxes of chocolates and sweets and free passes for Craven Country Ride. Better than money 🙂’.

Hard to believe Faith is now 17.

Highfox Heritage loving learning new things today. Very positive, enthusiastic and obedient. The model pupil! The handler however, would have failed her pony club D test leaving the lunge line on the floor!

Fijal Gemstone in 1998. A lovely quality, big mare (full sister to Fijal Prelude), but light of bone (see earlier post). It didn’t seem to stop her winning a lot. She also successfully carried a sidesaddle with Jo. Pictured winning a Picton qualifier with Diane.
