ππ SOUTHFIELD AFC β CLUB STATEMENT
Itβs with a very heavy heart that I have to announce that SouthField AFC will be folding ahead of the new season.
This is honestly one of the hardest decisions Iβve ever had to make, and itβs not one Iβve taken lightly.
Over the past few years, SouthField has gone from the bottom of Division 2 to the Championship. Weβve had promotions, cup runs, finals, trophies, unbelievable goals, great days and, most importantly, created memories and friendships that Iβll never forget.
But behind the scenes, running a football club takes an incredible amount of work. Chasing subscriptions, organising sign-ons, finding sponsors, managing social media, sorting pitches, referees, match days, recruitment and everything else that comes with running a club has largely fallen on my shoulders.
Iβve reached a point where Iβm exhausted, and as much as I love SouthField, I have to be honest with myself and accept that I canβt keep doing everything on my own.
I want to say a massive thank you to every single player, coach, supporter, sponsor and everyone who has played a part in SouthField AFC over the years. Whether you were here from the beginning or only spent a short time with us, you were part of this club and part of the journey.
Iβm devastated that it has come to this, especially with the new season so close, but sometimes you have to accept when something has reached its natural end.
But this isn't the end. π
This isn't the end of SouthField's players, and it certainly isn't the end of SouthField's manager.
We may be stepping away for now, but we won't be away for long. There is already a plan in place, and a new journey approaches. βοΈ
The SouthField name, the people behind it and everything we've built together isn't simply disappearing.
This is just the beginning of the next chapter.
Thank you for everything. ππ
SouthField AFC β forever a part of the journey.
The next chapter is coming. βοΈ

A beautiful moment before today's cup final as both teams stood together for a minute's silence.
π Southfield AFC stood in memory and support of a dear friend of the club, Darren Thirtle, following the heartbreaking loss of his wife.
π€ Clayton Albion FC stood wearing black armbands in support of one of their own after the tragic loss of a family member in a car accident.
Football is about more than results. Today was a reminder that, despite rivalries, we're one football family. Thoughts are with everyone affected. β€οΈβ½

Semi-Final Match Report
Today saw SouthField AFC take on Rattlers in the semi-final of the Bradford Summer Cup. With a handful of key players missing through injury, it gave some of the lads who don't usually get many minutes the perfect opportunity to step upβand they certainly delivered.
SouthField started the brighter of the two sides, playing with confidence and patiently probing for an opening, while Rattlers sat deep with almost everyone camped outside their own penalty area.
The breakthrough finally came from a beautifully floated free-kick by Nick Pemberton, perfectly met by Connor Whyte, who powered his header home to give SouthField a deserved 1-0 lead.

Half-Time: SouthField 1-0 Rattlers
The introduction of Brad Puddy and Isaac Taylor changed the game completely in SouthField's favour.
The second goal came from a brilliant move down the left. Mikey Douglas found Connor Whyte, whose clever flick over the defence released Isaac Taylor. His first effort was brilliantly saved, but Isaac stayed composed, collected the rebound, beat his defender and smashed home to make it 2-0.

SouthField were now in complete control. Mikey Douglas unleashed a shot from distance that the keeper could only parry, and there was Connor Whyte in the right place at the right time to tap home his second of the afternoon.

With Rattlers pushing more men forward, frustration began to creep in. One of their players shouted from the sidelines that "we're nothing without Mikey"βironically just after he'd been substituted.
What followed couldn't have been scripted any better.
A brilliant 10-15 pass move carved Rattlers open before Isaac Taylor slipped a perfectly weighted pass into the path of Finley "El Donkey" Crowther. One touch, one thunderous finish into the top corner, and a little reminder back towards the Rattlers bench. That's 3 goals in 2 games against them now... π

The fifth and final goal came from a throw-in that found Isaac Taylor in space. He beat his man before delivering a superb cross to the back post, where Joe Munton met it with a brilliant diving header to complete the scoring.
