Most of us were taught that health means not being sick.

No fever.
No pain.
No diagnosis.

But B.K.S. Iyengar saw health differently:
“Health is not only the absence of disease; it is a state of vibrant well-being.”

This is a very different way to understand yoga practice.

Health is not only the body being free from illness.
It is also the feeling of being steady in the body.
Clear in the breath.
Present in the mind.
Alive in our own being.

In Iyengar Yoga, this well-being is not forced.
It is uncovered slowly through practice.

When the feet learn to stand with awareness, the body becomes more stable.
When the spine learns to lift, the breath has more space.
When the breath becomes steady, the mind begins to quieten.

This is why practice is not only about doing poses.
It is about learning how to live more fully inside the body.

Not a dramatic before-and-after.
Not a quick transformation.

A slow return to yourself.

Europe is sweltering under a historic, record-breaking heatwave that has pushed temperatures past 44°C (111°F) in France and shattered June records in the UK. The extreme heat has triggered rare red alerts, forced thousands of school closures, disrupted rail transit, and resulted in hundreds of heat-related fatalities across the continent.

In France alone, 48 deaths occurred due to accidental drownings from people jumping into unsupervised rivers or reservoirs to cool off.

Scientists confirm that this crisis carries the "fingerprints of human-induced climate change." A rapid attribution analysis by ClimaMeter revealed that fossil fuel pollution made this specific heatwave 2 to 4°C (3.6 to 7.2°F) hotter than it would have been under normal conditions.

Furthermore, climate experts emphasize that Europe is warming faster than any other continent – heating up at twice the global average since the 1980s. This rapid warming is resulting in longer, deadlier, and much more frequent extreme weather events

A pose becomes yoga only when intelligence enters the action.
Without intelligence, the body may only repeat.

It may stretch.
It may hold.
It may perform.

But yoga asks for something deeper.

Can the mind remain alert?
Can the breath stay connected?
Can the action become clear, precise, and alive?

This is where practice begins to change.
Not when the pose becomes more impressive,
but when attention enters the movement.

This is why Guruji said:
“To be dull is easy, to be active requires tremendous work.”
— Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar

To be active is not to be restless.
It is to be awake in the body.

Awake in the breath.
Awake in the intelligence behind the action.

That is the real work of practice.
