So incredibly proud of our Wibsey U13 Blues! 💙 Only 9 players, no subs, injuries, a slow start… and they fought their way to a 3rd place finish in the league stage. They took home the trophy after winning 2-1 in the plate final! 🏆 What resilience, what heart, what a team. Well done lads — you were absolutely amazing! 💙⚽

First game of the season with a brand-new squad — and what a performance! Up against a strong Ossett side, our lads and lasses worked hard, adapted brilliantly, and showed fantastic team spirit. Result didn't go our way, but the effort and attitude were 10/10.

Today wasn't just a football match. It was the start of something special. 💙⚽

Our first ever league game. The lads stepped onto that pitch with nerves and excitement — and then they played with pure courage. Heart, fight, skill, and so much potential. Every single player put everything into it.

I'm not just proud of their performance — I'm proud of them. This team is something really special.

This weekend, it all starts again for many ❤️⚽

The early alarms.
The kit bags by the front door.
The frantic search for the missing shin pad.
The coaches checking the weather every ten minutes.
The referees walking onto pitches knowing every decision will be watched.
The parents standing on touchlines with coffees in their hands and butterflies in their stomachs.

And, most importantly, thousands upon thousands of children pulling on their shirts and doing something they love.

For some, it will be their very first match.

For others, incredibly, this might be the beginning of their final season in junior football.

There will be goals they'll talk about all week.

There will be mistakes they'll have forgotten by Monday.

There will be wins, defeats, muddy knees, freezing mornings, last-minute winners, missed penalties, brilliant saves, new friendships and probably a few tears along the way.

But years from now, the scorelines won't matter very much.

They'll remember the teammates.

They'll remember the laughs.

They'll remember Mum and Dad being there.

They'll remember the coach who believed in them.

They'll remember being part of something.

So to every young player stepping onto a pitch this weekend…

To every volunteer coach who has spent their own time getting a team ready…

To every parent driving miles, washing kits and cheering from the sidelines…

To every referee brave enough to pick up the whistle…

To every club secretary, groundsman, fixture secretary, welfare officer and volunteer working quietly behind the scenes…

Good luck for the season ahead.

Enjoy it.

Support each other.

Be kind when things don't go your way.

And every now and again, look around and take it all in.

Because these ordinary Saturday and Sunday mornings won't last forever.

And one day, you'll give almost anything to have just one of them back. ❤️⚽

Started a little slow but grew stronger with every game—found our rhythm, played great football, beat a JPL side in the final and took the whole thing 💪 Loads of game‑time, solid work on & off the ball—perfect prep building momentum right into the new season 🙌 Big thanks to all parents & especially Julian for all the extra help today—means so much! Proud of this group 💙🤍

Wibsey Whites played their first ever game today, a friendly against Stanningley Greens.

Not the outcome we wanted—but it’s all a learning curve. We know exactly where we need to put the work in, keep building together, and we’ll absolutely come back stronger 🤜🤛 Proud of the whole team today!💙🖤

Fantastic performance from the Blues — back at our League Cup winning venue and secured another big win! Goals galore from Ollie, Jake, Brodie & Franklin. Solid defending from Franklin, POM Teddy voted by the parents, and Finlay with a clean sheet plus some fancy footwork! 😂

Even with the opposition down to extra players, we kept our shape, played our football, and came out on top. Love this group! 💙💪
