Sometimes motor racing is a contact sport and the Lone Star Le Mans was one such occasion for Garage 59.

No sooner had Alex West made a good start from fifth on the grid in the #58 McLaren, he was spun out by a Mercedes and left to fight back for the remainder of his run. Ironically, Antares Au was hit at the end of his run by the same Mercedes, but we won’t take it personally 😳

Ultimately, it was a rough day for the #10 McLaren, which finished in 17th place after more contact and some penalties.

The #58 fared much better, recovering to eighth place by the chequered flag.

No podium appearance for us this time but we loved every moment of our trip to Austin 🇺🇸

⭐ We will start the Lone Star Le Mans in P5 after a strong showing from the #58 McLaren at COTA.

took P3 in Qualifying, getting the McLaren through to Hyperpole, where jumped in and took P5!

The #10 had a tough Qualifying and will start P14.

We have 6 hours to work our magic tomorrow and we can’t wait to get stuck in 💪

FP2 is in the books ⏱️

The #58 McLaren finished P4 and the #10 McLaren P5, with both cars right in the mix after the second practice session in Austin.

Plenty still to work through, but a positive session for the team.

Texas, here we come! 🇺🇸🤠

We’re off to Austin for the next round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, as the Lone Star Le Mans takes us to the Circuit of the Americas.

Fast, flowing and technical, COTA should play nicely to the strengths of the McLaren GT3 EVO and both crews are ready to get stuck in.

For Benji Goethe, it’s an extra special one; not just his first race at COTA but his first race in the USA.

One of those days at the Nürburgring 🎢
 
The 58 McLaren started from pole position in Gold Cup, but took a hit at the start of the three-hour race and was ultimately forced to retire with transmission trouble.
 
The 59 McLaren had a strong race, taking the chequered flag in second position overall before a 10-second time penalty for a Full Course Yellow infringement dropped it all the way back to tenth.
 
Not the results we wanted, especially as our pace was strong.

We were on a break…

But now we’re BACK!

It’s that time of year when championship challenges get fruity. In GT World Challenge Europe, we are leading the Overall and Endurance Cup Gold title fight so with two more Endurance and two more Sprint rounds to go it’s time for maximum attack.
