Brackley RUFC is a family orientated club formed in 1976 to address the growing need for Rugby Union Football in the town. There is also a Veteran’s Team (The Broken Brigade) who still maintain a passion for rugby away from the intensity of 1st XV action. Introducing Our New Captains | 2026/27
Every team needs players who lead by example, and we’re proud to announce our leadership team for the 2026/27 season.
Congratulations to Joe Schafer, who has been named Club Captain, and Wayne Mills, who takes on the role of Vice Captain.
Both have earned the respect of teammates through their commitment, work ethic and passion for Brackley Rugby Club. They know what it means to wear the badge and will lead from the front every time they pull on the shirt.
As pre-season begins, a new chapter starts for the club. We can’t wait to see what this squad can achieve together under Joe and Wayne’s leadership.

The summer internationals are here.
Join us at Brackley Rugby Club on Saturday 4th July as England 🏴 take on South Africa 🇿🇦 in the opening round of the Nations Championship.
The bar will be open from 4pm, so come down early, grab a drink, and enjoy the build-up before kick-off at 4:40pm Everyone is welcome.

Thank you David Mitson from all at Brackley RUFC
“It is with great sadness that I have decided to step down from the position of Director of Rugby. Unfortunately due to outside commitments meaning I will be away for most of the season, I am sadly unable to dedicate the time that the role needs.
It has been a real honour and pleasure to have led this group and played a part in the progress on and off the field.
This group not only achieved the highest joint league position in the clubs history, but without doubt the greatest achievement has been seeing more than 15 of the clubs colts graduate into senior rugby, with many of them making their 1st XV debuts, and arguably becoming some of the most vital players in the squad.
With a young and developing squad, the future looks bright and I would urge you all to continue to support the development and opportunities for these young, emerging players. Allow them to play without fear, with your steadfast support, and they and the club will thrive.
I look forward to cheering the lads (and now ladies team) on from the sidelines and enjoying a beer or two at the club in the future.”

Brackley Colts pre-season training starts on Monday 13th July at 7:30pm.
For the 2026/27 season, our Colts section will consist of players in School Years 12 and 13 (U17 & U18).
