I was chatting to someone the other day - who I met through a mutual friend - and she told me what she did for a living... facials from home.

Of course, doing what I do, I wanted to know more.

Brands she uses, technology she loves, how she runs her business.

"Well, its not a real business..." she revealed.

"Why not?" I asked her.

"Because its just me..."

I wasn’t shocked by her words.

I’ve seen a crazy amount of people who think the aren’t a legitimate business just because they work alone.

They seem to think they are somehow unworthy of seeing themselves as a proper, profitable, money generating operation because they don’t have a huge premises or a team of ten.

The thing is – if you’re charging clients for a professional service – you’re a business... and you should treat yourself that way.

Business is a delicate ecosystem, which when managed correctly, can thrive into a beautiful, balanced operation whether its you and a team or you working alone.

But that means embracing every element.

Now, here is how I see it.

There are many MANY ways to be super successful within the beauty world.

A bustling, staff packed high street salon is one.

But the solopreneur model is riding strong right now – and those working alone have a HUGE opportunity to create a sustainable, strong profitable business with one main person running the show and delivering treatments.

But you gotta know how to do it.

✨ You have to delegate certain tasks to keep that ecosystem in check

✨ You have to market your services

✨ And ideally you have to deliver exceptional treatment that you can charge high prices for

But master this and you’ll have a hugely successful business, that fits in with your life.

Don’t ever question your validity as a business owner just because its you.

Recognise your potential and shine bright!
