To all cyclists

I hope more cyclists will consider joining us in 2026.

Last year was incredibly difficult. We were heartbroken to cancel the 2025 ride but safety had to come first. We believe that this cancellation, even though done for everyones safety, may have made some people hesitant about registering to ride this year, but we're back, determined to deliver the friendly, welcoming event that so many cyclists have enjoyed over the years.

If you've ridden with us before, you'll know that what makes the Rotary Dorset Bike Ride special isn't just the beautiful Dorset routes, it's the people. Dozens of volunteer marshals and helpers give their time to make the day safe, enjoyable and memorable. They are the heart of the event.

This year, however, the ride on Sunday 6th September means even more.

Our main event organiser, Richard, is currently living with cancer. The funds raised through the Rotary Dorset Bike Ride support Cancer Research UK, and the research funded by supporters like you is helping people like Richard every single day. It's a cause that has become deeply personal for all of us.

There are still significant costs involved in staging an event of this size, regardless of rider numbers, and we need your support now more than ever. Every entry helps us secure the future of the event while raising vital funds for life-saving cancer research.

The reality is that without enough riders this year, 2026 could be the final Rotary Dorset Bike Ride.

If you've ever thought, "I'll do it again one day," we'd love that day to be this year. Whether you choose one of our shorter routes or take on the full challenge, you'll be riding alongside a fantastic community, enjoying some of Dorset's finest cycling, and making a genuine difference.

Please help us keep this wonderful event alive.

Register today at www.dorset-bike-ride.co.uk and encourage your cycling friends to join you.

Thank you for your past support, and we hope to welcome you back to the start line in 2026.

With sincere thanks,
The Rotary Dorset Bike Ride Team
