We're so excited that Fairfield Halls is taking part in
Check Out Croydon's Unexpected Croydon art installation over the bank holiday weekend 🎉

From 27 to 31 August, residents and visitors to Croydon are invited to look up, explore and expect the unexpected as larger-than-life sculptures appear on rooftops, bursting from buildings and transforming familiar landmarks in spectacular fashion.

The free walking art trail offers visitors of all ages a playful new way to discover Croydon, with giant tentacles reaching from the iconic Fairfield Halls, plus supersized sunflowers, a shoal of colourful fish and the biggest paintbrush you’ve ever seen! 🤯

We hope everyone has a fantastic time exploring the trail. Visitors are encouraged to share their snaps of Fairfield Halls' tentacled tenant by tagging in Fairfield Halls on their social channels 📸

We were delighted to welcome members of the community to Mountbatten Leisure Centre in Portsmouth last week for a free screening of The People's Emergency Briefing, exploring the climate and nature crisis and inspiring local conversations about its impact on Portsmouth and beyond.

Bringing together some of the UK's leading scientists, the film offers an honest and accessible look at the climate and nature crisis, while encouraging local conversations about what these challenges mean for Portsmouth and beyond.

The screening formed part of a growing nationwide programme helping communities and decision-makers engage with the evidence, explore solutions, and support calls for stronger action.

It was fantastic to host an event that sparked thoughtful discussion, inspired positive action, and brought people together to learn more about the future of our environment. Thank you to everyone who attended! ✨

At BH Live, we're passionate about creating opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to be active, healthy, and connected 💙

That's why we've extended our popular MountAirX sessions at Mountbatten Leisure Centre, giving families an extra 30 minutes to enjoy the giant inflatable attraction that's become a favourite across Portsmouth 👏

Earlier this year, we also launched dedicated Under 5s and SEND sessions, designed to provide a more relaxed and inclusive experience. With reduced numbers and additional space to explore, these sessions help children develop confidence, enjoy physical activity, and have fun in an environment that works for them.

And there's more good news. Thanks to the UK Government's Great British Summer Savings scheme, families can enjoy VAT savings on MountAirX sessions until 1 September 2026, helping make summer activities more affordable for local communities ✨

Our health and wellbeing team in Bournemouth had a fantastic time last week at Kings Park Vaccination Clinic to shout about our amazing exercise referral programme 🎉

Hosted by one of our local partners, University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity, local residents were invited to have a free health check followed by a clinical assessment and consultation with our exercise referral team.

It was great to work alongside other local organisations such as LiveWell Dorset, Help & Care, Stroke Association, and We Are With You to share local resources and help promote the importance of maintaining health and wellbeing and staying regularly active 💙
