In these hot, dry conditions, the risk of wildfires is high.
Help prevent wildfires at Queen’s Park:
• No fires, BBQs or camping stoves
• Extinguish ci******es properly, never drop them on the ground or throw them from a car
• Dispose of glass bottles responsibly, as they can start fires in the sun
See a wildfire, or witness deliberate fire starting?
Note the location, get to a safe place and report it immediately to DW Fire & Rescue Service on 999. Early detection can prevent a major incident
Thank you for helping to protect our environment and keep our community safe.

Our new John Deere top‑dresser has arrived! This machine helps us save time, reduce material waste and improve turf health by delivering an even, consistent spread of sand, compost and fertiliser. It’s already proving a smart upgrade for keeping the course in great condition.

Our new John Deere Pro‑Gator has arrived on the course! This versatile, turf‑friendly utility vehicle gives us extra power and capacity for day‑to‑day maintenance. It’ll handle attachments like sprayers, top dressers and our debris collector - and it’s already proving handy for transporting the new China clay bunker sand!

Thank you to everyone who has raised concerns over the Queen’s Park pond. Unfortunately, the recent period of extremely hot weather has resulted in significant natural evaporation, which has caused the pond to dry out.
Earlier this year, works were undertaken to repair the historic outflow, which had naturally eroded over time. At present, there is no evidence to suggest that the pond is losing water due to any other leaks, as it has successfully retained water until the recent prolonged dry conditions.
In relation to wildlife concerns, the Queen’s Park & Charminster Neighbourhood Charity has kindly purchased water troughs, which are expected to be delivered this week and will be filled daily by our teams from the depot. This will provide an alternative water source whilst the pond remains dry.
We are also planning further dredging works in October to increase the pond’s capacity. We hope that this additional capacity, together with expected rainfall during the autumn and winter months, will make the pond more resilient to the increasingly warm and dry summers we are experiencing.
Thank you for your understanding and continued interest in the wellbeing of this local habitat.

🏌️ Bunker Refresh Underway
Our bunkers are getting a major upgrade with 100 tonnes of new China clay sand being added across the course.
The brighter, cleaner sand will enhance presentation while creating smoother, more consistent playing surfaces. Combined with our ongoing programme of bunker edging and sand management, it's all part of our commitment to delivering a great play experience.
