Yesterday me and got the chance to train together while the kids played in the gym.
Life is busy, and the summer holidays have meant juggling coaching, training, work and family time — so this was a nice change.
No agenda. Just training together, chatting and watching the kids mess around and figure things out.
One of my favourite things has been watching Esmae and Jasper master pull-ups this summer. They can both link reps now, not because we’ve pushed them to train, but simply because they’ve grown up watching the adults around them move, train and challenge themselves.
That’s probably one of the biggest reasons training has remained such a big part of my life.
It’s not just about PBs or being fitter.
It’s about building a strong, healthy body that allows me to keep doing the things I enjoy, with the people that matter most.
And hopefully showing the kids that being active is just a normal part of life.
Love being able to share this space with my family and watch them grow.

A bit of a personal one today.
I got something wrong, owned it, and it made me reflect on the difference between being good at social media and being good at coaching.
After 16 years, I’m still learning — both as a coach and now, apparently, as a content creator 😂
I’ll always take inspiration from others, but I need to get better at telling my own story, in my own words.
Coaching will always come first.

Took some inspo from APX for this one.
One of the biggest things we look for — both online and in-person — is coachability.
I can write you the best programme in the world.
But if you’re skipping sessions, ignoring the plan, going out on the p**s every weekend and eating like your goals don’t matter… the programme isn’t the problem.
Coaching is a two-way street.
My job is to give you the structure, programming, guidance and accountability to get where you want to go.
Your job is to show up, do the work and communicate when things aren’t going to plan.
You don’t need to be perfect.
You do need to be consistent.
Because ultimately, I can give you the roadmap — but I can’t do the work for you.
Be coachable. Trust the process. Build strength that lasts.

Over the years I have come to realise that it’s not just about how good a program is or how good a athlete is.
The mindset of the individual and their approach to training is just as important.

Another week in the books.
A good reminder that progress isn’t just about what happens in the gym.
Time with the family, plenty of work behind the scenes continuing to build and improve Vectis Bournemouth, and then finishing the week back on the competition floor at ATHX GAMES with the boys.
After a couple of years away from competing, it felt good to put the training to the test again.
But more than anything, this week was another reminder of why I enjoy the process.
Training. Coaching. Building. Competing. Family.
They all demand time and energy, but they’re also the things I genuinely enjoy working towards.
Another week of showing up, learning and moving forward.
Master the Process. Build Strength That Lasts.
