QUALIFIER 2 RESULTS
Well… it started off looking absolutely PERFECT this morning! 🙌
Within minutes the first fish was landed, several anglers got off to a flying start and it genuinely looked like we were in for an epic day.
And then… I opened my mouth. 🤦♀️🤣
I must apologise because the Maisy Jinx Effect was well and truly activated. The SECOND I said, “It’s on fire!” the wind kicked up and quite literally blew the flames out! 💨🔥😂
From there, things got extremely difficult. The wind became so strong that casting was an effort and a half, keeping in touch with lines was incredibly difficult and a LOT of fish were lost.
The big fish have also clearly started feeding up!
There were snapped lines, straightened hooks and some absolute monsters giving anglers the runaround before deciding, “Nah, not today mate!” and making their escape. 🤣
Alan Patterson did manage to tame an absolute MONSTER of a Tiger Trout — and when I say monster, I mean "RIDICULOUSLY BIG!" 🐯🎣
He was bricking himself while playing it because it sounded like it was nearly as big as him! 🤣 His lunchtime commentary while telling me all about the battle was almost as entertaining as watching it would have been!

Those were not easy conditions and definitely not a relaxing day’s fishing. I hope you’re all home, relaxed and that the windburn is starting to cool down! 😂
One of these days we WILL hold a competition where the weather behaves itself… 🙏🤣
