North West Schools Combined events Championships 2026 πŸ’₯

Delayed congratulations to Elise Hodgkinson and Amelie Hodgkiss, who proudly represented Greater Manchester at the North West Schools Combined Events Championships in Ellesmere Port.

Seven events. Two long days. Challenging conditions. Endless determination. πŸ’ͺ

Combined events test every aspect of an athlete, and both girls showed incredible resilience, heart and talent throughout the competition.

🌟 Elise continued her outstanding progress in the heptathlon, scoring a fantastic 3756 points to finish 4th in a hugely competitive Intermediate Girls competition.

Her weekend included:
πŸ’₯ PB – 80m Hurdles: 13.81
πŸ’₯ PB – 200m: 27.77
πŸ’₯ PB – Javelin: 33.42m
πŸ’₯ Outdoor SB – Long Jump: 4.47m

🌟 Amelie, competing in her first ever heptathlon, produced an excellent debut, scoring 2702 points to finish 17th.
Her highlights included:

πŸ’₯ PB – Shot Put: 8.37m

πŸ₯ˆ Together with teammate Abbie from Stockport Harriers, the girls helped Greater Manchester claim the Intermediate Girls Team Silver.

Everyone at Bolton United Harriers would like to wish the very best of luck to our three athletes who have qualified to compete at the English Schools’ Athletics Championships this weekend – a fantastic achievement and a testament to their hard work and dedication.

To qualify for the English Schools’ Championships is an incredible accomplishment, placing each of these athletes among the very best athletes in the country.

What a weekend for Bolton United Harriers at the Northern U14 & U16 Championships in Leigh!

Taking on the very best athletes from across the North, our 10 athletes rose to the challenge and delivered incredible performances, showing the talent, determination and hard work that makes our club so special.

πŸ₯‰ Anastasia Velicka soared to bronze in the U14 Long Jump with 4.38m.

πŸ₯‰ Oliver Hall jumped his way to bronze in the Triple Jump with 11.56m, before agonisingly missing out on a second medal by just one place, finishing 4th in the Long Jump with a fantastic PB of 5.48m. πŸ’ͺ

πŸ’₯ Olivia Coker threw a superb PB of 27.21m to finish 4th in the Javelin.

⚑ Our sprinters were flying too!
Alicia Moses reached the finals of both the 100m and 200m, while Grace Austin and Joshua Grundy powered their way into the 300m finals, producing fantastic performances on one of the biggest stages in northern athletics.

Every athlete gave it their all, represented the club with pride, and proved they belong among the North’s best. πŸ‘

πŸ₯ˆ Silver Success for Iris Beca at the Northern Championships ✨

A fantastic performance from Iris Beca as she claimed the silver medal in the Women’s U18 Hammer Throw Final with an impressive throw of 49.01m.
The result also sees Iris secure qualification for the English Schools’ Athletics Association (ESAA) Championships β€” a brilliant achievement and reward for all her hard work and dedication.

Also celebrating strong performances from BUH athletes:

⚑ Benjamin To came agonisingly close to the podium in the 100m, placing 4th with a time of 10.78w. Ben also qualified and ran well in the final of the 200m.

⭐ Louie Connolly ran a strong 400m in the U18 men’s final in 51.93.

🌟 Heather Tomlinson produced a superb run to finish 5th in the Elite Women’s race with a PB of 2:44:28

Olivia delivered a fantastic performance, achieving a new PB of 7.63m in the shot putβ€”a great milestone and a testament to her hard work and consistency.

Her efforts contributed valuable points to the Greater Manchester Team, helping them secure 5th overall in the competition.
