RESULTS AND HIGHLIGHTS… 🏏

Saturday |

The 1st XI welcomed Horwich to Egerton.

Batting first, things didn’t quite go to plan early on as we found ourselves 7-3. But skipper George Harris stepped up when it mattered most, producing an excellent captain’s knock of 63 to steady the innings.

He was well supported by Joe Whittaker (33) before Anthony Clegg (25) and Josh Dziobon (23) produced a crucial 9th-wicket partnership of 45, helping us reach a competitive 188 all out. 👏🏼

Jason Whittaker got us off to the perfect start with an excellent opening spell of 2-9, before Nabeel Tahir took centre stage with a superb 6-58.

Horwich were bowled out for 126, securing a fantastic 62-run victory! 🔥

The 2nd XI were on the road at Woodbank and came agonisingly close to securing a win.

The hosts posted a big 205 from their 45 overs.

Freddie Stafford (70) and Jenson Conlon (56) had the perfect start with an opening partnership of 127.
Unfortunately, wickets began to fall just as we looked to be in control, and despite the best efforts of the middle and lower order, we finished 19 runs short.

Sunday |

The 3rd XI travelled to Worsley looking to maintain their unbeaten run.

A few early wickets put us under pressure, but Finlay Stafford produced an outstanding display of patience and determination.

With wickets falling around him, Finlay continued to dig in before Billy Taylor joined him at 124-6.
The pair put together a huge 132-run partnership, with Billy contributing a vital 31, before Finlay was eventually caught for an exceptional 131! 👏🏼🔥

The innings finished on a commanding 268.

Our bowlers wasted no time putting on the pressure with Jenson Conlon, Sammy Dziobon and Finlay Stafford all picking up two wickets apiece before Aiden Constantine returned to the wickets in style, producing a sensational 4-7 to wrap things up.

Worsley were bowled out for 158 and the 3rd XI secured another fantastic victory to remain undefeated! 💪🏼
