🔥 Bolton parkrun Event 706 – 11th July 2026 ☀️

What a scorcher! 🌞 Event 706 will certainly go down as one of the hottest Bolton parkruns we’ve experienced. The temperatures were absolutely sizzling, the sun had its running shoes on, and everyone deserved a gold medal just for turning up!

A huge thank you to everyone who listened to the advice before the event by hydrating well, taking things at their own pace and putting wellbeing first. It wasn’t a day for chasing records—it was definitely a day for keeping cool, staying sensible and enjoying the parkrun community.

Despite the blazing conditions, an incredible 312 people ran, jogged and walked our course. We welcomed a fantastic 71 first timers to Bolton—what an introduction to parkrun! We hope your first visit didn’t leave you too sun-burnt to come back again! 🌡️

Considering the heat was really turning up the thermostat, 23 participants still managed to keep their cool and record shiny new Personal Bests. That’s seriously impressive when the course felt more like a giant outdoor sauna than a Saturday morning run! 🔥👏

Representatives from 27 different clubs joined us, proving once again that Bolton continues to attract runners from far and wide—perhaps they all heard we were the hottest ticket in town!

Of course, events like this simply couldn’t happen without our incredible volunteers, who stood out in the sunshine with smiles as bright as the weather. While many of us could seek a little shade after finishing, our volunteers stayed out there making sure everyone was safe, cheered on and looked after.

Whether you were flying round the course, taking it nice and steady, volunteering, spectating or supporting from the sidelines, thank you for helping make another memorable Bolton parkrun. There may have been plenty of sweat, a few red faces and enough sunshine to toast the breakfast afterwards, but there were also countless smiles, high-fives and encouragement all around the park.

Bolton parkrun started on 5th February 2011. Since then:

Whatever the weather brings next week, we look forward to seeing you all back in Leverhulme Park. Hopefully things will have cooled down a little… although after this weekend, you can all officially say you’ve experienced a truly red-hot Bolton parkrun! ☀️🔥 🥵
