Ryders Farm is a family run business, established 25 years ago by Sarah Fitton, a BHS Stage 5 performance coach in Complete Horsemanship. We are a BHS approved Riding School and Livery Yard, an Official Pony Club Centre and approved by the Local Authority. We specialise in riding lessons for all ages and abilities, encouraging people to enjoy the sport of riding and love horses as we do. We are always happy to see new faces (and old friends) and you are welcome to visit our yard, but please, no dogs. We know sometimes the urge to see, touch, talk to and yes, even smell a pony, is overwhelming so even if you’re not riding feel free to visit us, feed the ducks, chat to others on the yard, have a coffee and enjoy yourself. Our instructors, yard staff, reception and admin are all dedicated to ensure that your experience at Ryders Farm Equestrian Centre – whether owner, visitor, student, parent, rider , horse or pony - is one which you enjoy and treasure.

We can’t believe we are saying this already😱

But HALLOWEEKEND is coming!👻

Get your thinking caps on because it’s time to get creative! 👻 Each group lesson over the weekend will have a fancy dress winner for both horse and rider, judged by the coach of your lesson. Yes adults… this includes you too! We are giving everyone plenty of notice to plan those spooky costumes🎃

🏆 Winners will receive a prize!

We’ll be sharing some costume inspiration from previous years soon, so keep your eyes peeled and start planning your outfits!🧙‍♀️

When was the last time you stopped and remembered why you started?

It’s so easy to get caught up in the goals, the results, the good days, the frustrating days, and everything in between. Sometimes riding can feel like a constant list of things to improve, something to work towards, or something that didn’t quite go to plan.

But underneath all of that is the reason we started in the first place.

Maybe it was the first time you sat on a horse. Maybe it was the feeling of freedom, the friendships, the productive mornings, the quiet moments, or simply because being around horses made you happy.

Progress doesn’t always look like a rosette or a perfect round. Sometimes it’s getting back on after a difficult ride, trying something that scares you, or just enjoying your horse for what they are.

So wherever you are in your riding journey, take a moment to look back at where it all began.

Morning everyone. We just wanted to share some very sad news with you all.

On Tuesday evening, we had to say goodbye to our wonderful Jill and have her put to sleep. She was 22 years old and had been part of the Ryders family for the past 12 years!

Jill meant an awful lot to all of us here and we are absolutely heartbroken to have lost her. ❤️

We also know just how much our school horses mean to so many of you. They become such a special part of your riding journey, and we know many of you love them just as much as we do.

Jill has taught and looked after so many riders over her 12 years with us, and we know lots of you will have your own lovely memories of riding her and spending time with her.

We feel incredibly lucky to have had her as part of our family for so long.

Goodbye, beautiful Jill. Thank you for everything. ❤️❤️❤️

Today we said goodbye to Hannah as she heads off to university! 🤍

Hannah has been part of RFEC for 13 years, starting lessons when she was just 6, joining Pony Club at 8 and becoming a valued member of staff when she was older. The rest is history!

Hannah has been such an incredible member of the team over the years and will be especially well known to anyone who comes along on a Saturday. She’s been a huge part of the yard and we’re definitely going to miss having her around.

Hannah has also been a big part of our livery family, starting out loaning Mac when she was little, then Chesney, and finishing her journey with us, for now, with Jimmy 🖤🤍

Hannah definitely won’t be a stranger and we’re sure she’ll be back to visit us often!

So, enjoy some of our lovely memories of Hannah over the years, including a few we know she’d probably rather we kept to ourselves 🤣📸

Good luck Hannah, we’re so excited to see what’s next for you! 🤍

Lexi update!

At the end of August, our gorgeous Lexi went to camp with Summer.

For those who don’t know, Lexi has been a project pony for the team over the past year, and we’ve loved sharing her progress with everybody.

Lexi absolutely loved camp! We honestly think she just enjoyed being involved with the older horses and spending time with her friends more than anything🤣 And that’s what this was all about for her!

She took everything at her own pace and learnt so much. We couldn’t be prouder of her, and especially of the work Summer has done with Lexi over the last few months. She really is an absolute credit of a pony.🫶

Lexi will now be enjoying a quieter winter to grow up a little more after what has been a brilliant summer.🐴
