⚽️ WHAT A COMEBACK! 🔥

Today we welcomed Prestwich JFC Falcons, a side that beat us 4-1 back in April and at half-time, it looked like history might repeat itself as we found ourselves 1-0 down.

But the first half wasn’t good enough. The effort wasn’t there, we weren’t working together and the ball simply wasn’t moving quickly enough.

A good chat from Barlow at half-time was exactly what was needed — raise the effort, work for each other and move that ball quicker. 💪

AND what a response from the lads! 🔥

We came flying out in the second half, showed fantastic teamwork and turned the game completely on its head, finishing 6-2 winners! 🙌⚽️

Some brilliant goals along the way, with Lakari ⚽️⚽️ and Harry ⚽️⚽️ both grabbing braces, while Billy ⚽️ and Zak ⚽️ got one each.

From 1-0 down at half-time to a 6-2 win — that’s character, that’s teamwork and that’s grassroots footy! 👏

⚽️ It’s MATCH DAY!

Back at the famous Moss Park, back in the trenches and back at it after not getting a game in last Saturday.

Today we face Prestwich JFC Falcons — the same Falcons who put four past us on a in April this year, leaving us with a 4–1 defeat.

But that was then.

This is pre-season, new faces, more minutes in the legs, more graft on the training ground, more lessons learned.

AND one thing hasn’t changed…

THE BREIGHTMET GRIT. 🦾

We don’t hide from setbacks. We learn from them. We dust ourselves down, get back at it and come back wanting more.

The BBDFL season is getting closer. Every tackle, every run, every mistake, every goal — it all counts towards being ready.

⚽ Saturday’s Fixture Update! ⚽

We’ve had a change of opposition for Saturday, with Moss Bank JFC Yellows unfortunately pulling out of the fixture.

Thankfully, we’ve gratefully had Brad, our age group fixtures secretary, and his team Prestwich JFC Falcons fly in to save the day! 🦅 See what we did there? 😉

We’ve faced the Falcons previously, and this time we’ll be looking to come out on the right side of the result! 💪

That said, it’s still pre-season, so the focus remains on getting minutes in the legs, building fitness, working on the things we’ve been practising and, most importantly, enjoying our football! ⚽

Looking forward to another good test for the lads. Let’s go!

⚽️ THE NEW SEASON IS NEARLY HERE! ⚽️

The BBDFL league season is nearly upon us, as kick off the new 2026/2026 league campaign on Saturday 5th September 2026 and as the lads get older and the league structure gets smaller, we’ve now found ourselves competing in Section C — one of five leagues — in what promises to be a seriously competitive season! 🔥

Will the lads come away with some silverware from the league or cup campaigns this season? Who knows… 🏆

What we do know is that every week, these lads will step onto that pitch, give it absolutely everything they’ve got, and most importantly… ENJOY THE BEAUTIFUL GAME! 🤍⚽️🖤

Because that’s what grassroots football is all about.
