We are proud to offer the Swimming Teachers’ Association Aquatic Helper Certificate– the perfect first step for anyone interested in becoming a swimming teacher!🏊‍♀️✨

This STA-approved mentoring programme gives 14 year old and above aspiring helpers the opportunity to gain valuable experience supporting swimming lessons alongside a qualified Level 2 swimming teacher. Learners complete an Aquatic Helper workbook, develop their communication and teaching skills, learn about water safety and teaching methods, and complete 12+ hours of practical helping in lessons before achieving their certificate. It’s a fantastic way to inspire the next generation of swimming teachers and build confidence in and around the pool🌟💦

A huge thank you to our amazing current Aquatic Helpers who you may have spotted around the pool, Elsie, Evie, Alice, Dominic, Miles & Harper! You are all doing a fantastic job supporting our teachers and swimmers, and we’re so proud of the progress you’re making🎉🙏🏼

We aim to create a community with a passion for swimming for those to take their first step towards teaching!🌈

What an incredible achievement! We are absolutely thrilled to announce that, thanks to the amazing support of our swimmers, families, friends, local businesses and community, we have raised an incredible £6,611.00 through our Sponsored Swim in aid of Bolton Smiley Faces and Cancer Research UK 💙💗

From every length swam, every raffle ticket bought, every refreshment purchased and every donation made, every single contribution has helped us reach this fantastic total🤩🌟

We are so proud of all of our swimmers who took part and gave their all in the pool. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, shared our fundraiser and supported us along the way. We couldn’t have done it without you all!!🎉

This week has been extra special one as many of our little swimmers have been taking part in their very first Badge Week across all of our pools!! Here’s some fab pictures from our pool at Westholme in Blackburn, BB2 6QU!🥹🏅

We know there may be a few nervous faces, but we also know just how much they’ve learned and how hard they’ve been working. We can’t wait to keep seeing the children show off their new skills over the next 2 weeks and celebrate every achievement, big or small🩵🤞🏼

Looking for a fantastic way to boost your child’s swimming this summer? Our SwimSchool Summer Intensive Week is returning to Sharples Pool, Bolton from Monday 27th July – Friday 31st July 2026 and bookings are now open!🗓️

What a fantastic week we have had celebrating Drowning Prevention Week!🫧

Throughout the week, our swimmers have taken part in a range of water safety activities, learning vital skills that could one day save a life. We have loved seeing so many children engaging with the important water safety messages, building their confidence, and developing their understanding of how to stay safe in and around water🐠

Today is our final day of Drowning Prevention Week sessions at Sharples, and we’re looking forward to finishing the week with even more learning and fun in the pool!🤩

A huge thank you to all of our swimmers, parents, and instructors for supporting this important campaign. Together, we are helping to raise awareness and make water safety a priority for everyone🙏
