Ricky Hatton: A Fighter, A Friend, A Legend
Today, we remember Ricky Hattonāa man who gave everything to boxing, to Manchester, and to the UK. His passing has left a deep void in the sport and in the hearts of those who knew him.
Ricky was more than a world champion. He was a symbol of grit, humility, and pride. From Stockport to Las Vegas, he carried Manchester with him, inspiring millions through his unforgettable career and his dedication to Hattonās Gym. He made boxing accessible, real, and deeply personal.
But boxing doesnāt just build championsāit can break them too.
Ricky spoke openly about his battles with depression, addiction, and the emotional toll of life after the ring. His courage in sharing those struggles helped others feel less alone. It also reminded us that mental health support for fighters must continue long after their final bout.
He was a close friend to Amir Khan and Bob Shannon, and a familiar face at both Round4Round and the Amir Khan Academy. He mentored young fighters, gave his time generously, and remained a true ambassador for the sport.
Ricky Hatton made Manchester proud. He made the UK proud. He made boxing great.
His legacy lives on in every fighter who steps into the ring with heart, and in every young person he inspired to rise above their circumstances.
Rest in peace, Ricky. You were one of a kind.

Round4round has an official partnership with the boxing legend āAmir Khanā. The leadership team engage with Amir directly.
**1. Leadership Team**:
- **CEO**: Nasir Akram Oversees the overall direction and strategy & is an England Boxing Official. Handles member relations
- **COO**: Ashik Ashif Manages day-to-day operations and ensures everything runs efficiently. Level 2 Amateur & Professional Coach.
- **CBO**: Mike khan *Level 2/ Latif Mohammed Handles all aspects of boxing curriculum , ensuring we stay on track with England boxing & the British Board of boxing. *Latif through an official partnership with Vote Boxing manages professional boxers.
- ā **SHE**~ Abbas Khan. Oversees all aspects of health & safety and optimising facilities
**2. Coaching Staff**:
- **Head Coaches**: Bob Shannon (Professional Boxing)/Ash (Community Boxing)/ Mike (Amateur Boxing)/ Sannah Adam (Female Boxing)- Leads training programs and develops boxing strategies.
- **Assistant Coaches**: Support the head coach and work closely with boxers to improve their skills. Arbaz khan/ Shaun Wilson/ Hassan Ilyas/ Abdul Rashid/ Shoaib/ Shanaz Rakhmat/ Haroon Khan & Zeeshan Afzal
**3. Support Staff**:
- **Medical Team**: Dr Hassan Khan- Ensures the health and safety of our athletes.
- **Nutritionists**: Ash helps Provide tailored diet plans to optimize performance.
**Administrative Team**: Accounting/IT Arbaz & Hassan Digial marketing & Locker champion. Volunteers Kamran Afzal/ Jenny Wilson & Nilufar Patel
- **Event Coordinators**: Plan and execute our boxing events.

Round4Rounds youngest Max Wilson demonstrated his skill this Friday & showed courage, skill & composure.
Both his family & coaches are extremely proud of this young man who has battled so many health & other challenges this year but showed his grit. He is an ambassador of his gym & community at the age of 10.
