⚫️🟢BWAFC 2-2 Monton JFC🟢⚫️

Match day 3 saw us travel to Monton JFC for an away fixture. Very poor weather conditions and the pitch wasn’t much better. With our goalkeeper out injured up stepped midfielder Bradley Regan between the sticks. The lads started off on the front foot keeping hold of possession and moving the ball round nicely.

Chances were mounting up and we in truth should have been a few goals up but somehow found ourselves behind, as a free kick somehow squeezed into the far corner of our net.

The lads kept pushing and created numerous scoring opportunities but somehow the ball just wouldn’t hit the back of the net.

Second half was a carbon copy of the 1st with the lads having the majority of possession and creating a bag full of scoring opportunities but it was Monton FC goalkeeper who saved everything we threw at him with an outstanding performance from him. we were finally level thanks to striker Isaac with a nice finish. Fellow striker Enzo then scored to put us 2-1 up with ten minutes to go.

The lads looked like they had got the result they fully deserved but it was second half keeper Kalan aka Casper the ghost who somehow let a free kick past him to level the score with 2 minutes to go. Safe to say Kalan won’t be volunteering anytime soon to go in goals again😂😂 but massive thanks to both lads for stepping up and going in goals so the game could go ahead. Very frustrating scoreline in the end but fantastic work rate and desire from the whole team who actually performed very well.

POM was defender Fletcher with a fantastic performance. Well done team. We go again next weekend as we host BLGC at The Dale.

Some recent clips of the lads in action. We go into match day 3 tomorrow away to Monton JFC with an injury hit squad and without our keeper due to a face injury. We dont cancel games though so we go into tomorrow with one of the midfielders going in-between the sticks. Should make for an interesting game. Lads are going to have to work even harder now. Good luck lads ⚽️💪

BWAFC 5-3 BLGC Aces

Match day 2 of the season and 1st home game of the year saw us welcome BLGC Aces to the Dale ground.

With last week's disappointing result behind us it was important to go into this game knowing we had to take our chances when they came our way against a team we have had many great battles against over the years.

We started off really well and played some fantastic football at times. It was new striker and signing Isaac who put the wyresdale in front after the ball fell to him after a corner to finish nicely in the bottom corner. Fellow striker chris then added a second to put us 2nil up. Isaac then found his second of the gane with a great strike to make it 3-0

BLGC managed to grab a goal back from a set piece to go into the half time break 3-1

4 changes made at half time and in truth it probs unsettled the rhythm of the game and BLGC rallied and put us under a lot of pressure, isaac then grabbed his hat-trick to make the score 4-1 before BLGC piled on the pressure and before we knew it we conceded two to make it 4-3.

The lads were in a right battle and had to dig deep to keep lads club at arms length, striker chris came back on and thankfully scored his second of the game to make it 5-3 and secure a vital 3 points. Credit to lads club for another great game between the two clubs.

POM goes to CM Bradley regan who battled all game and never stopped working

We now turn our attention to next week where we travel to newcomers Monton JFC

Thanks for all those who attended in support once again.

Well done lads ⚽️💙
