They did it, SJCF U16 Girls Shield Champs. A brilliant achievement for this wonderful group of girls.

A huge thanks must go to for preparing a pitch at short notice (which has no business being that good after the summer we’ve had), a delicious tea, another game played in best spirit and for generally being great hosts. Our girls had a brilliant day.

Our next post from the Under 16s girls festival features 13 year old Chloe who recorded her first ever century in the win away at Worthing. Her 132 not out surprised nobody, particularly anyone that has seen her bat this season and it was only a merciful declaration that finally dragged her off the pitch. Chloe also brought up 1000 runs for the club and we think that she is the youngest person ever to reach that figure as well as potentially the youngest ever centurion (our historical records are not completely accurate!). Congratulations Chloe, surely a superstar in the making 🤩

THE FINAL HAS ARRIVED!

Wishing these 11 players the most enjoyable SJCF final today. They put on some incredible displays of cricket last week, can they continue for 1 more game?

Our next girls under 16s festival post features a first club half century from Emily Nash, also in the home game vs Horsham this week. Her 53 came off of just 29 balls with 11 boundaries. Emily’s game this year has gone next level and we suspect it won’t be the last!

Ahead of tomorrow’s Under 16 girls final we are looking back at last week’s achievements that helped they them there. Our first post champions another 100 from Jess (come on, it’s getting boring now 🤪) as she smashed 134 from 84 balls against Horsham. That innings included 31 boundaries and Jess was ably supported by Charlotte in a partnership of 142 for the 3rd wicket. Jess has now reached not only 1000 runs for the club overall but incredibly has now scored 1001 runs this season alone and is the first player to pass that milestone this season from just 20 innings!

Congratulations to our U16 Vixens who have made it into to the SJCF Shield Final, which they will travel to Haywards Heath for tomorrow afternoon. Good luck girls!

Game day 3 of 3, with a win and a winning draw under their belts under 16 girls head to Worthing looking for another victory

A cornerstone of the 1st XI’s push for promotion has been the consistency and depth of the bowling this season. Ian and Tom are examples of that and their loyalty and persistence over the years has seen them both pass 250 wickets for the club. They’ve taken 56 wickets between them already this season, with 19 each in the league. Keep going lads!

It’s been a productive summer of festival cricket and another milestone reached amongst the squad with Jonah taking his 50th wicket for the club. That’s 21 wickets for the season now which is a very good effort indeed!

Sunday’s Women’s League Eliminator between the winners of the west and central divisions was one of the highlights of the season with Aldwick romping home with a 126 run with against neighbours Bognor CC. With Aldwick 47-3 the game could’ve gone either way but a match winning partnership of 170 between Jess (115*) and Chloe (59) that surely must be the best of their careers took the game away from the visitors. Jess’s innings was off just 102 balls and included 18 fours and 2 sixes, whilst Chloe’s 50 was her first league half century. They have just 28 years of life between them so to produce such a dominant performance in an adult match of this importance was extremely impressive. They were backed up by their bowlers on the day too and the team can now look forward to the division 2 league final away at Lewes Priory on 6th of September 🥳
