Today saw the start of the annual Triangular matches between Backworth, Blyth and Newbiggin. Captain Lee Metcalf took his 16 man team to Newbiggin where each club member played with a member from the other 2 clubs. With the best 12 stableford scores from each team counting towards the overall total the totals after game one are:

Blyth 427
Backworth 414
Newbiggin 399

Blyth’s top 3 points scorers today were:

Anthony Peet 42 points
Jonathan Aisbitt 41 points
Evan Metcalf 38 points

The next leg is Sunday 20th September at Backworth.

Lovely words from a visiting seniors section after their away day with us this week.

"Everyone who played enjoyed the golf course, which was presented in very good condition. The welcoming coffee, tea and sandwiches and the after-game meal all went down very well - excellent service by the staff. Thank you for all your help and hospitality, making the day very enjoyable for all."

They've already asked about dates for next September, which is the best review we could hope for.

Thank you to Danielle and the hospitality team, and to the greens staff for the course presentation.

It's Day – and we've got a lot to be thankful for.

Think about the last round you played at Blyth. The greens you putted on, the bunkers you (hopefully) stayed out of, the fairways that were cut before you'd even had your breakfast. None of that just happens.

Our greenkeeping team are on the course in the dark, in the drizzle, and in whatever the Northumberland coast sends our way – and they're still out there long after most of us have holed out on 18.

They don't do it for the recognition. But today's a good day to give them some anyway.

To the whole team at Blyth Golf Club: thank you for everything you do. It doesn't go unnoticed.

Next time you pass them on the course, a quick "cheers" goes a long way.

A big thank you to everyone who played in Saturday's V&N Jewellers Gents Open at Blyth Golf Club. Betterball Stableford off the whites, and some superb scoring across the field.

🎯 Nearest the Pins – Brian Fulbeck, Robert Hope & Ian Hayes, each taking home a £40 V&N Jewellers voucher. A great day for Brian, adding NTP to his win!

⛳ 2's Club – 15 players recorded a 2, with Ben McKenzie and Dale Robson bagging two apiece. Everyone with a 2 gets a sleeve of Srixon Z-Stars.

All Pro Shop vouchers and 2's prizes can be collected from the Blyth GC Pro Shop.
