𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗩𝗘𝗧𝗦 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞 🏉🍻

Saturday 17th October marks a special day at Manor Fields as Vets rugby officially returns to Bletchley Rugby Club with the launch of the 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗽 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵.

And there could hardly be a more fitting name attached to it.

Mark is a former Bletchley 1st XV player who went on to play for Bedford Blues, and his connection with Bletchley Rugby Club has remained strong ever since.

Now, that connection continues through the next generation. Mark’s youngest son, Jack, is the current Bletchley 1st XV scrum-half, while his eldest son, Tom, serves as the club’s Head of Men’s Rugby.

And on 17th October, all of those threads come together in one afternoon at Manor Fields.

The Vets will get the day underway with a local derby against Milton Keynes before the 1st XV take on Amersham & Chiltern II’s later that afternoon.

For a club built on people, families and generations of players pulling on the Bletchley shirt, it really couldn’t be more of a family affair.

The BBQ will be fired up, the Ankle Tap Bar will be open and we want a huge crowd around the pitch to make the first Mark Sharp Invitational an occasion to remember.

This is more than just another fixture. It is the relaunch of Vets rugby at Bletchley, a celebration of those who have represented the club over the years, and the beginning of what we hope will become a permanent fixture in the Bletchley calendar.

This Saturday, the Senior Men finally get their 2026/27 campaign underway as we welcome Datchworth to Manor Fields for our first pre-season fixture.

After a few additional weeks of pre season than expected, it’s the first chance for the squad to get back out there, put that work into practice and start building towards the new season.

Bletchley Rugby Club is looking for Matchday Medical Cover to support our Women’s team throughout the 2026/27 season.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable pitch-side experience, maintain their skills, or become involved with a thriving community rugby club.

The Commitment
🏉 Approximately 2 Sunday fixtures per month
🏉 Home and away matches
🏉 Matchday cover only (around 4 hours per fixture)
🏉 Approximately 8 hours per month

Minimum Requirement
✅ A valid First Aid qualification

Whether you’re a qualified first aider, first responder, or studying or working in sports therapy, physiotherapy, rehabilitation or another healthcare profession, we’d love to hear from you. Additional medical qualifications are welcomed but are not essential.

You’ll become an important part of our matchday team, supporting player welfare and helping ensure our players have the appropriate medical provision in place both home and away.
