🏉 PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENT!

Although technically not new to Blandford RFC, Alfie is stepping up for his first season of Senior Rugby — and we’re delighted to have him with us!

Away from the rugby pitch, Alfie is an arable and dairy farmer from Blandford, but he’s no stranger to the game. With a strong rugby background that includes experience with Bath Academy, Alfie brings plenty of talent and experience to the squad.

🗣️ Alfie on joining the Seniors:

“I’ve always loved the club and the camaraderie that comes with it. I play at Number 8 or on the wing, and I’m looking forward to a good season with the boys.”

A versatile player with a great rugby pedigree and plenty of local knowledge — we’re looking forward to seeing what Alfie can bring to the Senior side this season!

New season. New beginnings.

After leading the side with commitment and passion, Haydn has stepped down as First Team Captain. We'd like to thank him for everything he's given the club and his leadership over the past seasons.

We're delighted to announce Josh Gibbs as our new First Team Captain.

Josh joined the club last season and quickly made his mark, bringing a wealth of experience, fresh ideas, and filling a hole at fly-half.

His leadership on the pitch was clear for everyone to see, while his willingness to embrace the club's social side 🍻 made him a popular figure off it too.

Here's what Josh had to say about taking on the role:

"I'm incredibly proud to be captaining such a great group of lads this season. We've got a squad full of talent, character and players who are always willing to put in the work for each other. My aim is to help create an environment where everyone enjoys their rugby, keeps improving, and gives everything for the badge. If we stay committed, work hard for one another, and keep building the strong culture we've got here, I'm confident we can achieve some great things together - both on and off the pitch. I can't wait to get started with the boys and see what we can accomplish as a club."
