⚽ Blairgowrie U16 Girls 6–3 Dundee East

A high-scoring and entertaining game for the girls on Saturday as we welcomed Dundee East in slightly blustery conditions.

We started brightly and took the lead when Dakota played a great ball over the top, allowing India to get onto it, round the keeper and finish to make it 1–0.

Dundee East responded to level before going on to take a 2–1 lead, but the girls showed good character to get themselves back into the game.

The equaliser came after Marley broke from defending a corner and fed Lana, who produced a great touch to free Dakota, allowing her to run through and finish to make it 2–2.

We then regained the lead at 3–2 following another excellent bit of combination play. India won the ball back, linked up well with Lana and then found Dakota, who made no mistake with the finish.

Dundee East levelled again with us caught sleeping after scoring straight up the pitch and scored from KO to make it 3–3 setting up another competitive spell.

We regained the lead at 4–3 when India showed great composure inside the box, jinking past defenders before finishing well.

The girls then continued to push on. From a throw-in, Carly put a good ball across to Dakota, who squared it for Maley to tap home, making it 5–3.

The sixth came when India played a great ball through to Dakota, who ran onto it and finished well to complete the scoring at 6–3.

A really entertaining game in windy conditions, with both teams creating chances throughout. The girls showed good character to respond every time Dundee East got themselves back into the game, while there were some really good passages of combining with teammates and playing forward quickly.

👏 Well done girls — Another good 3 points in the league.

12/9/26 League Fixture

⚽ Thornton Hibs 2-3 Blairgowrie ⚽

A fantastic result for the girls in the return fixture against Thornton Hibs, especially after losing 4–1 in the corresponding game earlier in the season.

It was a difficult start for us with a bit of wind and the girls not quite being ready for the opening spell. Thornton made us work hard early on.

We took the lead when Carly’s challenge with the defender broke into the box and into Dakota’s path who finished well to make it 1–0.

Thornton responded quickly to level, and we went in 1–1 at half time.

After a few words from the coaches at half time, the girls came out much better in the second half and started to create more chances. Chloe’s effort from distance was parried by the keeper and Dakota followed up to put us back in front.

Thornton pegged us back again to make it 2–2, but the girls kept going and we managed to grab the winner when India found Dakota after a throw-in, and Dakota completed her hat-trick with an excellent finish from distance.

From there, the girls kept playing and were able to see the game out.

An enjoyable game between two well-matched teams, and a big improvement from the earlier fixture for us. The girls showed good character, responded well after half time and battled right to the final whistle.

Well done girls.

This week we are at home to Dundee East.⚽️⚽️

League Fixture 29/8/26

⚽️ Blairgowrie Girls 3–0 St Andrews Girls ⚽️

A beautiful day, a great pitch and with the majority of the squad available, the girls had everything in place to put in a good performance — and they certainly did that.

The game started well, with both teams creating chances and playing some good football from the outset.

We were able to capitalise on the chances when Dakota opened the scoring after being played through by India, Dakota then added a second, capitalising on a defensive error to put us 2–0 up at half-time.

St Andrews came out strongly at the start of the second half and created a few good chances of their own. They’ll be disappointed not to have taken one of them, but credit to the girls for responding well. We got our shape sorted again, settled back into the game and began creating chances at the other end.

The third goal came from some excellent play with Marley playing out wide to Carly who delivered a great ball into the box. Chloe was alert and showed real composure to finish after the defence failed to clear and make it 3–0.

Another really encouraging performance from all the girls, and we’re starting to see some consistency developing in their performances. The football is improving, the girls are working hard for each other and the signs are really positive.

Well done girls! 👏💙⚽️

Thanks to St Andrews for the game.

22/08/26 League Fixture

Blairgowrie Girls U16s 2–5 Dunfermline Whites

Blairgowrie Girls U16s welcomed Dunfermline Whites on Saturday for another competitive fixture.

Blairgowrie found themselves 1–0 down early on but showed good character to get themselves back into the game. With Stevie finishing off Carly’s cross after a well worked corner between her and Beau. Unfortunately, a quick second goal from Dunfermline meant the girls went into half-time 2–1 behind.

The second half started disappointingly, with Blairgowrie conceding two early goals to leave themselves with a mountain to climb at 4–1 down. Despite that, the girls continued to compete and showed plenty of fight to get themselves back into the game, with Dakota finishing well to get on the scoresheet and make it 4–2.

Dunfermline eventually added a fifth to put the game beyond doubt, but Blairgowrie continued to battle right until the final whistle.

With a few players missing, the girls can be proud of how they competed against a strong Dunfermline side. Ultimately, though, Dunfermline punished the mistakes Blairgowrie made and deserved to come away with the points.

A tough result, but plenty of positives to take from the performance and the character shown to keep fighting when the game looked to be getting away from them.

⚽ Goals: Stevie, Dakota
🏆 Final score: Blairgowrie Girls U16s 2–5 Dunfermline Whites

Carnoustie Girl’s U16s 0–1 Blairgowrie Girls U16s

We travelled through to Carnoustie on Wednesday evening for a tough away fixture, and it proved to be a real battle from start to finish.

The first half saw Blairgowrie under a fair bit of pressure, with the wind making it difficult for the girls to get out of their own half. Despite that, they continued to look dangerous on the counter at times and worked hard to stay in the game.

The second half saw Blairgowrie grow into the match and get more involved, creating a few good chances as the game went on. Dakota was excellent in the middle of the park, helping to drive the team forward, while Mia put in an outstanding defensive display, making several last-ditch challenges breaking up the play really well.

Eventually, Blairgowrie broke the deadlock. Dakota played a fantastic ball through to Stevie, who did brilliantly to cut inside and tee up Lana. The Carnoustie defender managed to get a block in, but Stevie reacted quickly to the rebound. Her shot fell to Carly, who made no mistake, calmly finishing into the bottom corner to give Blairgowrie a 1–0 lead.

The final stages were nervy, and Blairgowrie rode their luck a little at times with Faith clearing off the line and Ellen making some really good saves, the girls defended brilliantly as a team, showing great determination and togetherness to see the game out.

A fantastic battling performance from the whole team and a well-earned 1–0 away victory to move us up to third in the league,Every player worked really hard and the clean sheet made the result even more rewarding.

⚽ Goal: Carly
🅰️ Assist: Dakota → Stevie → Carly
🏆 Final score: Carnoustie Girls U16s 0–1 Blairgowrie Girls U16s
