The Stars are back up Stade de Libanus Parc tomorrow and welcome Crickhowell to the Parc.

The clubs have played a number of games against each other in the past and they have always been close exciting games.

The Stars are pleased to have another strong squad to select from.

The Club is sad to hear of the recent passing away of ex player Kevin Hurley (Tubey). Tubey played for the Stars for 8 years and played over 200 games for the club. a solid front row player who never went backwards in the scrum, He may have gone sideways and up but never backwards. A big character in the clubhouse after games

Our thoughts are with Kevins family at this sad time.

Also ex players Dylan Harris, another prop row forward, and Noel Davies a scrum half and full back has also recently passed away.

Dylan played for the Stars for 2 and 3 seasons and Noel for one or two seasons when he was having a break from Fleur RFC.

Our thoughts are with Dylans and Noels families at this sad time

Rest in peace gentlemen. 💚💚💚

Another great advert to grassroots rugby with both sides committed to the badge. An epic encounter against a big physical Ironsides team and no doubt there will be some aching bodies today.

The Stars managed to breakdown the Ironsides defence by moving the ball wide and upping the pace of the game. The platform was laid with a massive performance by the whole Stars pack of forwards who dominated the scrums and the back row competed fiercely in the tackle areas and hunted down the turn over ball.

A big thank you to Ironsides for the competition and the hospitality in the clubhouse after the game and we look forward to part 2 at Stade de Libanus later in the season

Positives from the game:

🏉The pack of forwards who set the platform for the backs to move the ball and up the intensity. Speical mention to the three front row forwards: Jason Murphy, Craig Brownett & Johnathan Pearce for playing the full 80 minutes. A big thank you to Andrew Peters for helping us out in the 2nd row together with Bedwellty RFC for allowing his permit.
🏉Captain Ashley Watts who led by example and bundled over to score the winning try towards the end of the game
🏉 The Stars back row unit who were hugely competitive in the breakdown area and made some huge hits
🏉The back line, well structured and marshalled by outside half Rob Smith and the midfield defence was very strong with centres Kris Wheeler & Danny Prosser together with Dai Burton when he entered the field having a great game defensively with Danny crashing over the white wash for a well worked try
🏉Once again the bench had a big impact when coming onto the field and a big shout out to Robyn Lewis for his first competitive game for the Stars
🏉Finally a massive performance by Liam Matthews at full back who always looked dangerous with ball in hand, always beating the first up tackler and was awarded man of the match by the Ironsides

The Stars are back in league action next Saturday at Stade de Libanus against Crickhowell
