WEEKLY ROUND UP;
BAYER NEVERLUSEN (2nd) have closed the gap on champs/leaders STUMPY FC to just two points after condemning them to their first defeat of the season.
Neverlusen, who fell behind to an early Will R (Stumpy) goal found themselves three goals behind on four separate occasions, before coming back to win 9-6!
Christie (Stumpy) followed up Will R’s opener with a cool finish that was guided into the bottom, left corner when Adam (Stumpy) found him (2-0), before Adam then supplied Will R on the left and he added a third goal with a replica finish to one of the goals that he scored last week, blasting in off the underside of the crossbar with a powerful, curling finish from a tight angle to make it 3-0.
At this point the three points looked like a formality for the champs, however, man-of-the-match Martin (Nev) gave a reminder of Neverlusen’s attacking threat when he took in Jamie’s (Nev) quick pass and buried a left-footed bullet past Stumpy’s stand-in keeper/captain Sam (3-1).
Stumpy had soon restored their three-goal cushion though with Pat (Stumpy) being allowed to saunter forward unchallenged, before he bent a left footer, low into the far corner (4-1).
Will R then went desperately close to heaping further misery on his opponents, but his shot bounced back off the near post, before some hustling by Jordan H (Nev) on the right led to the ball dropping to Jamie, who pivoted and got off a clinical, first-time strike that nestled into the far corner (4-2), but once again, after just getting back into the contest, Neverlusen conceded.
Stumpy’s fifth goal came when Pat received a pass from Adam and weaved between two Neverlusen defenders, prior to hammering the ball into the roof of their net, giving Neverlusen keeper Jason no hope (5-2).
Again, Neverlusen hit back though through Martin’s low finish (5-3), but once more Stumpy were quick to gain a three-goal advantage with Adam making it 6-3 in style.
He waited for Oscar’s (Stumpy) cushioned touch to bounce up to him, before unleashing a swerving, ‘outside of the right’ footed effort that bent into the top, far corner at high speed.
Christie then floated a lovely pass over the top to Pat, but he couldn’t extend the lead, being denied a hat-trick by the near post.
The ball then rebounded out, sparking off a Neverlusen counter attack that led to Martin navigating his way calmly around his marker with nice close control, before smashing the ball into the far corner (6-4).
The momentum then shifted to Neverlusen, who were relentless at this point, clawing it back to 6-5 through Martin, who benefited from a Phil (Nev) cut back, before Jordan H levelled matters, making it 6-6 with a stunning long-range strike.
He burst through the middle and capped off a solo run with a ‘screamer’ that flew, high past Sam, before Jamie put Neverlusen into the lead for the first time, scoring with a classy lob.
He flipped the game on its head, completing a remarkable turnaround when he chipped Sam from distance after strong hold-up play (7-6), before Pat tried to hit back for the champs with two low drives in quick succession, but both were watched and held by Jason.
Neverlusen continued to go for the throat, not sitting back on their lead when Cory (Nev) found Martin from a corner and he controlled the ball on his chest, before seeing his shot saved, however, he reacted first and eased past his marker with more neat footwork, prior to smashing in another close-range finish (8-6).
Cory then started a move that led to Phil crossing to Jamie, who then put the nail in Stumpy’s coffin when he completed his hat-trick (9-6).
Neverlusen will go into their next game v Revoe buoyant after a memorable night, whereas Stumpy will be keen to bounce back positively against Blackpool North next time out.

REVOE FC (7th) emerged from the derby v BLACKPOOL NORTH (8th) as 3-2 winners.
It was a good game that was brought to life by a goal from man-of-the-match Brad (BN), who broke the deadlock with a clinical finish when he was sent through ‘one on one’ with this week’s Dream Team keeper Chris (Rev).
It was BN debutant Grundy that supplied the assist (1-0), carving out the opener moments after he had a shot blocked by Andy (Rev) and Shea (Rev) had seen his rising effort tipped over by BN keeper Joe.
Chris then got down to his right to prevent further damage, making a strong one-handed save to deny Jayden (BN), before he recovered fast to smother Grundy’s follow-up shot.
It was at this point that Revoe enjoyed a devastating spell that led to them flipping the game on its head.
They scored three times in quick succession, firstly making it 1-1 when their captain Ricky advanced to take in Rob’s (Rev) low pass and then keep his cool as he caressed a low finish past Joe.
Shea was then allowed to travel forward unchallenged moments later, taking up the invite to shoot and finding the bottom, far corner with a well-placed finish to make it 2-1, before Rob scored a nice solo goal when he weaved through the BN defence and buried a low left-footer in off the far post to make it 3-1.
(His goal came moments after Brad had seen his shot saved by the legs of the Revoe keeper, who stopped it becoming 2-2.
Ricky and Rob both hit efforts over, whereas Grundy was snuffed out again by Chris after a throw-in from the right by Yaj (BN) and a nice pass from Jordan (BN) unlocked the Revoe backline to set him up, before Brad then found Grundy, who teed up Jordan, whose shot stung the palms of the Revoe number one.
It was a strong spell for BN, who capitalised on it when Brad played in Grundy.
Grundy’s initial effort was stabbed against the far post, but he reacted before anyone, setting up an exciting finale when he smashed his follow-up shot into the roof of the Revoe net from point-blank range (3-2).
Both teams went on the offensive, stretching the game, which led to an end-to-end finish to proceedings.
Firstly, Scott (Rev) hit the crossbar from close-range when he was sought out by Rob’s diagonal pass, before he (Scott) then latched onto a loose ball and played a ‘give and go’ with Shea, only to see his next attempt saved by Joe’s legs.
BN responded through Jordan’s back-heeled finish that was saved, before Jayden was also kept at bay by Chris.
Jordan then pounced and would have made it 3-3 had it not been for a crucial Ricky block.
Jack (BN) was then desperately unlucky not to score a last-gasp equaliser, leaving the Revoe goal shaking when his attempt hit the angle, before Joe did well at the other end to re-adjust and divert Shea’s lob to safety with a ‘diving header’ save!
Both these sides have a say in the title race next week when Revoe take on Bayer Neverlusen and Blackpool North look to upset champs/leaders Stumpy.

INTER HQ replaced SEA BREEZE THE LEAGUE in fourth after overturning a two-goal deficit twice to win 6-5.
It was a great game that was sparked into life by an early Zak (Inter) goal.
He made it 1-0 with a low right-footer that was drilled down the middle when Ned (Inter) provided for him, however, the early opener was immediately cancelled out by Alessio (SB), who improvised with a ‘scissor kick’ finish when following up his back-heeled shot that had been saved (1-1).
Inter then restored their lead with a ruthless, sweeping move that saw Ben (Inter) find George (Inter) on the right and he crossed low to Inter’s man-of-the-match captain Hez, who ghosted in to steal a yard on his marker and then turn a first-time finish past SB’s stand-in keeper Joe (2-1).
Alessio then made it 2-2 in the blink of an eye, another of his crafty back-heeled finishes crossing the line via the far post, despite Inter keeper Joe’s courageous attempt to claw the ball away, before SB then took the lead through Charlie (SB).
He gathered up a pass from Harry (SB), edged forward and smashed a long-range ‘screamer’ into the roof of the Inter net, giving the Inter number one no chance whatsoever (3-2).
Both Hez and Fin (SB) had attempts that were flashed wide at either end, before SB substitute Steveo made an instant impact, capping off a nice SB attack that involved Tom (SB) and Harry (4-2), however, Inter replied instantly through an OG that came about when Zak took a quick free-kick.
He found Ned on the left, whose curling effort came back off the far post to hit the stricken SB keeper and find its way in to make it 4-3.
SB hit back quickly themselves though, restoring their two-goal advantage when some strong defending from Tom led to Harry dancing inside, prior to letting fly with a ruthless left-footer that found the top, far corner to make it 5-3.
The goals were flying in regularly throughout this entertaining match with Hez getting his side back into the game with a lovely first-time finish.
He saw George’s pass cleared out towards him and got his body over the ball, displaying good technique when he drilled a first-time finish past Joe (SB) to make it 5-4.
He (Hez) then levelled matters in spectacular fashion, making it 5-5 moments later from an unstoppable, long-range free-kick that dipped and swerved on its way to finding the top of the SB net (5-5).
Joe (Inter) was then on hand to make a crucial reaction save that stopped Harry putting SB ahead again when he caused more problems for the Inter defence late on, before Hez popped up with the winning goal, turning the ball into the bottom, far corner when Zak slipped a pass through to him on the left (6-5).
SB could have snatched an equaliser at the death, but Steveo blazed over from point-blank range when Fin picked him out with a low cross from the right, whereas Harry was denied a last-gasp goal by Ned (now in goal), who made a crucial save.
Up next for Inter is Dortmund, while Sea Breeze face Special Kebab next week.

After hearing the breaking news that leaders Stumpy had suffered their first defeat of the season, SPECIAL KEBAB (3rd) knew that a win v STEVE BRUCEIA DORTMUND (6th) would get them right back in the title race, however, it finished 3-2 to Dortmund, who took the lead through their leading scorer Alex.
Firstly, Kebab captain Luke ghosted in behind the Dortmund defence during the early exchanges, only to see his finish kept out by Dortmund keeper Ste’s trailing leg, while diving the other way, before Alex took in Gareth’s (Dort) pass, weaved inside and fired in off the top of the far post to make it 1-0.
It became 2-0 to Dortmund seconds later with Ryan (Dort) catching the ball sweetly to double his side’s advantage from distance, but within a couple of minutes, Kebab had clawed it back to 2-2 thanks to a ruthless spell that saw Morts (Keb) make it 2-1 when he met Ben’s (Keb) corner with a lovely, perfectly executed half-volley, before a nicely worked team move led to Rory (Keb) setting up Ben who promptly made it 2-2.
It was an open start to the game with Gareth seeing his effort tipped over by Kebab number one Si, whereas Rory’s goal-bound stab (after spinning his marker) led to a good reaction save from Ste.
Si then averted an OG when he showed good athletism to hook away a diving header from one of his own players, whereas Luke flashed an attempt wide of the far post after linking up quickly with Morts, before Ryan then combined with Alex, prior to showing good vision and slipping a defence-splitting pass through to Ant (Dort).
Ant then had the presence of mind to stay cool and calmly round the Kebab keeper and make it 3-2.
Kebab defender Dan then took the fight to the opposition, embarking on a solo run on the left, beating three players, but Luke fired over when meeting his cross, before Ant came onto Bowey’s (Dort) pass and whipped in a first-time cross that landed on top of the Kebab crossbar.
As time ticked away, Kebab piled forward with Rory hitting the near angle of the Dortmund goal and Ben seeing his powerful shot punched over by the Dortmund keeper, before man-of-the-match Cardy (Nev) advanced from the back to link up with Alex, however, Si was out quick to smother the Dortmund defender (Cardy).
It remained 3-2.
Dortmund entertain Inter HQ next week, whereas Kebab’s next fixture is v Sea Breeze.

WEEKLY ROUND UP;
Champs STUMPY FC made it eight wins in eight and remain five points clear at the top after edging out INTER HQ (5th) 6-4.
It was a close, hard-fought game that was sparked into life by Sam F’s (Stumpy) tap-in when man-of-the-match Will R (Stumpy) crossed low to him from the right (1-0).
George (Inter) then fired wide of the near post when he created himself some space with nice close control and Sam F planted a header wide at the other end, whereas Will R was denied twice in quick succession by Inter keeper Joe, before the league’s leading scorer (Will R) netted with his next attempt, nipping in to make it 2-0 when the Inter defence misjudged a long ball out from Stumpy keeper Luke R.
Inter’s response was devastating though, roaring back to 2-2 within a couple of minutes.
Firstly, Fletch (Inter) made a direct run on the left flank and cut inside to find the bottom, far corner with a lovely right-footer (2-1), before his (Fletch’s) deft, back-heeled touch played in Zak (Inter), who drilled in a low, first-time equaliser (2-2), however Will R quickly restored the champ’s lead, making it 3-2 with a classy finish that saw him curl the ball nonchalantly into the top, far corner (via the inside of the post) from a tight angle.
Stumpy’s leading scorer was then denied his hat-trick by another good Joe save, whereas Zak was kept out by Luke R (who got down to his right) after Inter captain Hez and Fletch had combined to set him up, before Will R found the roof of the net (scoring from an angle once more) after combining with Stumpy debutant Sam H (4-2), but Inter hit straight back, scoring twice in quick succession to level matters again.
It was Fletch who made it 4-3, firing low when he went through ‘one-on-one’ with the Stumpy keeper after Tom (Inter) had charged the ball down, before Tom then netted courtesy of a Fletch assist (4-4).
A quickly taken free-kick by Stumpy then led to Will R restoring the holder’s lead (Adam with the assist for Stumpy this time), before Marky (Inter) was desperately unlucky not to make it 5-5 late on when his effort struck the top of the Stumpy post.
Stumpy then wrapped things up moments later when Oscar (Stumpy) nipped in to win the ball and supply Will R who went through alone to make it 6-4, the outcome inevitable as the Stumpy hitman closed in on goal in the dying seconds.
Up next for Stumpy is a top of the table clash with second-placed Bayer Neverlusen, whereas Inter entertain Sea Breeze the league next week.

STEVE BRUCEIA DORTMUND (6th) got back to winning ways after beating BLACKPOOL NORTH (8th) 10-2.
They (Dortmund) were immediately on the front foot with their top scorer Alex forcing an early save out of BN’s impressive keeper Joe, who got down to his left to make the stop, before man-of-the-match Ruben (Dortmund) pounced, rounding Joe to make it 1-0.
Joe then made a strong one-handed save to his right to keep Toby (Dortmund) at bay as his side streamed forward again, before Ruben began to cause more problems, stealing possession high up the field prior to blasting in his team’s second goal (2-0).
Both sides then had decent attempts with Jayden (BN) seeing his low, right footer deflect wide and Alex have his rising effort tipped onto the crossbar, whereas Rob (BN) was denied by Dortmund keeper Ste when he let fly from the right side, before Ruben then turned provider, supplying Alex who tapped in Dortmund’s third goal (3-0).
Ruben was at the heart of most of Dortmund’s attacking play, bursting through the BN defence and making it 4-0 with a nice solo effort after creating space with two ‘stepovers,’ before Gareth (Dortmund) got off a first-time left footer that was kept out by a great reflex save.
Dortmund’s pressure soon paid off again though with Ruben netting from point-blank range, despite Joe getting a hand to it (5-0), whereas Ste punched away a swerving Jayden effort before Ruben cut in from the left and dispatched a low bullet into the near corner to make it 6-0.
BN then crafted out a well-worked goal of their own when Jayden got on the end of Joe’s (BN) clever return pass and then fired in off the near post (6-1), before Alex had a shot blocked courageously by Andy (BN), however, Alex reacted first and then teed up Toby, who smashed in Dortmund’s seventh goal.
Toby then hit the bar and Nathan (BN) was kept out by a crucial block from Dortmund defender Cardy, before Jayden ran at a crowd of Dortmund defenders and tried his luck, seeing his shot land at the feet of Nathan, who wasted no time redirecting the ball, low into the far corner (7-2).
BN keeper Joe then made another top drawer save late on, springing to his right to keep out Ruben when Toby sent him through on goal alone, before Dortmund captain Bowey set up Alex, who made it 8-2.
Alex then added a ninth goal and set up Ruben , who capped off a good night when he completed his ‘double hat-trick’ at the death (10-2).
Dortmund take on Special Kebab next week, while Blackpool North go head-to-head with rivals Revoe FC in the derby next.

SPECIAL KEBAB (3rd) kept the pressure on the teams above them after edging out REVOE FC (7th) 7-4.
It was a fast-paced, end-to-end game, littered with great goals.
The first of them was scored by Shea (Rev) who got on the end of a lovely pass from Rob (Rev) and then flicked the ball coolly over the head of Kebab’s advancing keeper Fraser to make it 1-0 moments after Revoe keeper Chris had bravely smothered man-of-the-match Ben (Kebab).
Ben and Rory (Kebab) then linked up well to set up their captain Luke (Kebab) but he was denied a goal by a crucial block by Revoe skipper Ricky, however, Kebab scored with their next attempt, which was rolled in by Ben, who benefited from a Ste (Kebab) cross, making it 1-1, before Dave (Kebab) then saw his shot hit the inside of the far post and roll along the line.
Chris recovered quickly to stop the ball going in, but was powerless to keep out Dave’s next effort, which deflected in at the near post after he glided across the Revoe defence (2-1).
Revoe pair Andy and Rob then combined on the left to set up Scott (Rev), but his flick was saved by Fraser.
Gaz (Rev) reacted first though and calmly back-heeled the ball back into the path of Scott, who was kept out again by Fraser, however, Rob then made it 2-2 when he scored with an audacious attempt that went in straight from the resulting corner!
It was end-to-end with Chris somehow tipping another Dave shot onto the inside of his far post at full stretch, whereas Luke made a great block to stop Rob from putting Revoe back in the lead after Gaz had won the ball in the midfield, before Chris then made another two, top drawer saves that kept out Luke and Ben in quick succession.
Fraser also made a good save as well, turning the ball onto his near post to keep out Shea, before Shea was unfortunate to see his next effort come back off the Kebab crossbar!
A Ricky interception and Dean (Rev) pass then led to Rob making it 3-2 when he followed up his own shot that had been saved, before Ben connected sweetly with a Luke pass and made it 3-3 instantly with a clinical, ‘trademark’ finish that was hit low into the far corner from a tight angle.
Ben then flipped the script in favour of Kebab again in some style, smashing a superb, first-time volley into the top, far corner after Rory and Dave had linked up to carve out the opportunity (4-3), but Revoe responded straight away with a brilliant goal of their own when Rob flicked up Ricky’s pass and completed his hat-trick with an acrobatic ‘overhead kick’ to make it 4-4!
You couldn’t take your eyes off the game with Kebab going straight up the other end in the shape of Luke, who found Rory, who then danced his way past two Revoe defenders with nice close control and slotted in with a calm left-footer (5-4).
The game was then put to bed when Luke powered in from the right and smashed the ball into the roof of the Revoe net after combining with Dan, before Ben capped off the scoring, making it 7-4 in the dying seconds.

BAYER NEVERLUSEN (2nd) remain on the heels of champs/leaders Stumpy, keeping within five points of them after overcoming SEA BREEZE THE LEAGUE (4th) 6-4.
Man-of-the-match George (SB) almost lit up the game with a stunning goal, but saw his long-range shot come back off the crossbar early on, before he (George) then scored with his next attempt, flicking Alessio’s (SB) pass onto his right foot and then dispatching a shot past Neverlusen keeper Jason (1-0).
It was a lively start by SB with Alessio hounding back possession and setting up Harley (SB), but he bent his finish wide of the far post.
Patient Neverlusen build-up play then led to Cory (Nev) finding Jordan H (Nev), who was also very unlucky not to score when he hit the crossbar too with a brilliant shot from distance, before Neverlusen were then awarded a penalty and Jamie (Nev) made it 1-1 from the spot.
Harley and Theo (SB) then battled hard to work the ball to George who restored his side’s lead in style, leaving the Neverlusen keeper rooted to the spot when he unleashed another blistering finish that found the top, right corner this time (2-1).
Charlie (SB) then found Harley, who was the next unfortunate SB player to somehow not score with a powerful long-range effort.
His high-velocity shot beat Jason, only to bounce back off the underside of the crossbar, before Alessio cut in from the left and let fly with a right-footer that also left the Neverlusen goal shaking (Alessio hitting the bar as well!).
Charlie then put SB 3-1 up when he followed up Harley’s shot that had been spilled by the Neverlusen keeper, before Neverlusen captain Cocker made a critical block to keep his side in the game.
He (Cocker) cleared Alessio’s shot off the line after Alessio had gone round the Neverlusen keeper with ease.
It turned out to be a pivotal point in the game, because Neverlusen started to hit back, turning the game in their favour in the blink of an eye.
Firstly, Neverlusen’s top-scorer Harvie found the bottom, far corner with a right-footer after strong hold-up play by Martin (Nev), and then Martin took in Jordan H’s pass, and with his back to goal rolled his marker and hammered a left-footer into the roof of the SB net to make it 3-3.
Harvie then burst forward to collect the ball from Jamie and turn the game on its head, dispatching a low finish into the bottom, left corner (4-3).
SB’s response was another fantastic George strike, but somehow he saw his effort hit the inside of both posts this time, before bouncing out to safety!
George’s persistence paid off though, because he completed his hat-trick soon after, getting on the end of Max’s (SB) diagonal pass, before blasting past Jason at his near post (4-4).
Max then burst forward and tried his luck, only to see his shot saved, whereas SB keeper Brad stood big to deny Cory, before Cory played a ‘give and go’ with Martin and then tucked away Neverlusen’s fifth goal (5-4).
It was then a bit of late magic from Harvie that ensured that Neverlusen kept their title hopes alive.
He completed his hat-trick when he cut inside from the left to make it 6-4 and secure a massive win for his side, who will close the gap at the top to just two points if they can beat leaders Stumpy FC next week.
