RIP John Downs 🏏

Very sad news of the passing of John Downs, a true South Shore Cricket & Squash Club man.

John gave so much to the club over the years. He played cricket and squash, served as Chairman at one point and went on to become President, a role he held with great pride and dedication.

In more recent years, John could be found enjoying a game of snooker, continuing his involvement and friendship with fellow club members.

He was a much-loved and respected member of the club, and his contribution, friendship and memories will live on for many years to come.

Our deepest condolences to John’s family and friends at this very sad time.

Rest in peace, John. A true club man who will be greatly missed. 🏏

The Blackpool Cup final is on down at common edge this weekend the club will be open to everyone who is attending and anyone who fancy’s popping in. The opening hours are Saturday 10am - 5pm and Sunday 10am - 4pm

We are hosting Blackpool Scorpions ARLFC community club day this coming Saturday (28/03/26). Everyone is invited to come and join in the fun, you don’t have to be part of the club or rugby this event is for everyone. So come and join in the fun see the refurbished club meet new friends enjoy live music. 🦂 MEN’S OPEN AGE PLAYERS WANTED 🏉💪

We’re recruiting new players for our Men’s Open Age team, so if you’re male and aged 17+, we want to hear from you!

We’ve had another great pre-season training session this week, with a brilliant mix of ages from 17 right up to 40 proving that age really is just a number.

Over the last two weeks, 6 new lads have joined and settled in like they’ve been part of the Scorps family for years.
No experience needed our coaching team includes players with Super League and National Conference experience, so whether you’re brand new or a seasoned player, you’ll be supported.

We’re proud to be the only rugby league club in Blackpool, Fylde and the Wyre Coast to have an open age team competing every year for many years.

So if you want to get fit, meet new mates and be part of a proper rugby league family, now’s the time to get involved.
