Blackpool FC Girls u14s 9-0 Tranmere Rovers

In their first competitive match together, our u14s absolutely smashed it, with a dominant display and a statement win!

The girls flew into an early lead, and kept up the intensity for the full match, creating lots of chances, and keeping a very important clean sheet!

Coach Dane: “I was really happy with the girls’ performance today, we played some really exciting football and to have the refereee say that we were the best team she’s refereed is nice to hear!”

We’re becoming more dynamic, more clinical and more confident in the way we want to play. The progress we’re seeing both in training and on matchdays is really exciting.”

Blackpool FC Ladies u18s 2-0 Bury Women u18s

Our u18s get off to a great start in their first game of the season

It was a deserved win, in a very professional and controlled performance, with debutant Lara Collin bagging two well-taken goals to get our league campaign off to the perfect start.

Andy Stoney, u18s Manager: “I am really happy with how everyone performed. The club is in a very good shape from the u18s through to the First Team. I’m looking forward to seeing how we progress as a team and hopefully push more of the players to get minutes with the Reserves and First Team. We had some really good debuts today and also looking forward to seeing the other girls who haven’t played today make an impact in the games.”

Blackpool FC Ladies Reserves 3-1 Thornton Cleveleys Ladies

In our first game back after being reinstated, our Reserves secured a deserved 3-1 win under the floodlights in a midweek fixture hosted at AFC Blackpool against a talented and experienced Thornton side.

Pool threatened regularly in the first half, with both Daniels and Lord getting in-behind the opposition defence multiple times, but unfortunately unable to convert their chances.

The Tangerines kept up the pressure in the second half, creating more chances in a very physical encounter. After excellent work by Kay, Lord kept her composure to slot home the opener. Kay then made it two, after being hacked down in the box, before converting the penalty. Thornton never gave up, pulling a goal back with ten minutes to go, before Sudell secured the win flying past several players at high speed and coolly placing the ball past the keeper.

Callum Lord, Reserves Manager: “It was an excellent team performance which showed togetherness, individual ability and fight, and a very positive step in the right direction ahead of Sunday.”

🍊An amazing effort from a girl who has been part of our club from a young age, who excels with her fast feet and power 👏🏼

Blackpool FC Ladies 2-0 Bolton Wanderers Reserves

Pool’s excellent start to the season continues, extending their unbeaten run in the league to 3 games, with a well-deserved victory over the team that finished second in the league last season.

It was a professional performance from Blackpool, who stuck to the game plan, and eventually broke down a dogged Bolton team.

Oatley put The Seasiders 1-0 up in the second half with an excellent effort from a wide free kick. Hart then secured the win, following great work from Roberts to beat the defender, before squaring the ball for Hart to slot home.

Andy Aspinall, First Team Manager: “We are delighted with another clean sheet. I thought we controlled the game well today. Bolton rarely threatened and our work rate in midfield was excellent. We asked the girls to be a bit braver in the second half and to try and get more bodies in the box, which they did brilliantly.

It was good to have one of our attacking players back, with more soon to follow. Morale in the group is sky high, and the girls all have the belief and mindset that we can really challenge at the top of the league this season.”
