Sometimes the only thing standing between you and your goal is a decision 💜

After years of coaching female clients across every background, lifestyle and starting point, this is the nutritional approach I come back to every single time for clients who are struggling with nutrition 💜

The fitness industry is full of messaging around flexible eating, intuitive eating, “have your cake and eat it”

And honestly, for the right person at the right stage, those things have their place

But for someone who is busy, new to tracking, new to understanding food, and wants real results?

Flexibility without foundation is usually why progress stalls

What I find works is starting with structure. A simple, repeatable daily plan that removes decision fatigue and builds confidence fast

From there, clients naturally start to learn food quality, portion sizes, how to build a balanced plate, how to handle social situations, how their body responds…

That education doesn’t come from being handed freedom straight away

It comes from doing the foundational work first

The clients I see with the best long term relationship with food aren’t the ones who said yes to everything

They’re the ones who learned when to say no at times

And once you have that structure and knowledge? You will never look back. You’ll always be able to manage your nutrition long term

Structure first. Always 💜

If this resonated with you, save this post and feel free to reach out if you have any questions

I’m always happy to help point you in the right direction (Link in bio) 🤗

Permission to begin 👇🏻

I spent years fighting food after the birth of my son

🤦🏼‍♀️ Yo-yo dieting
🤦🏼‍♀️ Guilt-tripping myself
🤦🏼‍♀️ Starting over every Monday

Healing my relationship with food didn’t happen overnight. It happened in quiet shifts I barely noticed... until one day I did!

Here are 5 signs I spotted when things started to change

☑️ I could eat one biscuit and actually stop

☑️ I ate when I was hungry (not bored, not stressed, not emotional)

☑️ Food became just food (and not a reward nor a punishment)

☑️ One off-plan meal didn’t blow the whole week anymore

☑️ I started making calm, rational decisions around food instead of reactive ones

So how did it happen? Gradually!
And honestly, education around nutrition as I progressed in my job changed everything!

I eat very simple now..

No elaborate recipes

No last-minute decisions

No grabbing convenience food because I hadn’t planned ahead

👉🏻 I swapped processed foods for single food ingredients and made easy swaps (eg, lean protein instead of fatty cuts, fibrous and complex carbs instead of simple ones)

👉🏻 I built a meal plan around foods I already ate and enjoyed, then slowly reintroduced more as my structure got stronger

👉🏻 I learnt my macronutrients (how much protein, carbs and fat my body actually needed to cut, maintain or build) and as time progressed, suddenly food felt like fuel and not the enemy

Preparation did the rest!

Save this 👇🏻

At 39 I was training hard and frustratingly seeing very little change

What I know now (that I desperately wish I knew back then, would have saved me years of frustration and spinning my wheels in the gym)

Here are the 4 things that actually moved the needle…

☑️ I finally understood that training hard meant nothing if I was sedentary the rest of the day

☑️ I was eating “healthy” but had no idea about macronutrients, food selection, or quantities

☑️ I stopped going through the motions and started training with intention

☑️ I dramatically reduced alcohol. Not forever. Not perfectly. But enough to stop undermining every good decision I was making the rest of the week

Build on these basics and I guarantee you too will see the difference within weeks

Save this and come back to it when your current routine stops working 👇🏻

The real answer 👇🏻

You’re eating clean

You’re training hard

You’re doing everything right

And the scale is barely moving! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Here’s the brutal truth (and I say this with love because I’ve been here myself!)

Eating clean is not the same as eating accurately

If fat loss IS your goal, the data matters

And there are more gaps in that data than most women realise

☑️ Sauces, condiments and “drizzles” that never get tracked

☑️ Bites, licks and tastes (finishing your kids’ plates, picking while you cook, the handful of snacks that don’t count... but they do!)

☑️ Packaged food labels can be 10–20% out by law. That “500 calorie” meal you bought could easily be 600 calories

☑️ Estimating instead of weighing (even experienced trackers drift significantly over time)

☑️ Restricting hard all week then going off-grid at the weekend… Friday night wine becomes Saturday takeaway becomes Sunday “I’ll start again Monday”. The weekly deficit disappears

☑️ Alcohol (not just the calories in the glass, but what it does to your food choices, your sleep, and your body’s ability to burn fat for the next 24–48 hours)

Clean food Monday to Friday is a great start. But if the weekends are undoing it, the needle won’t move

This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about seeing the full picture and giving you the opportunity to reflect on what may be holding you back
