Over 40? Your body has changed… but your ability to get incredible results hasn’t. 💪

One of the biggest myths I hear is…

“I’m over 40 now, my body just won’t lose weight anymore.”

The truth? It can become more challenging.

Hormones change.
Recovery isn’t quite the same.
Muscle mass naturally starts to decline if you don’t use it. Stress is higher, sleep is often worse, and life is usually a lot busier with work, kids, and everything else.

But none of that means you’re stuck.

It just means your approach needs to be smarter.

✅ Prioritise protein.
✅ Strength train consistently.
✅ Move more throughout the day.
✅ Stop chasing perfection and focus on habits you can actually stick to.

I’ve coached hundreds of people in their 40s, 50s and beyond who have lost weight, dropped dress sizes, built confidence and completely changed how they feel.

Age isn’t the thing holding most people back.

It’s believing that it’s too late to start.

If you’re ready to feel fitter, stronger and more confident than you have in years, send me a DM with “FAT LOSS” and let’s have a chat about how I can help.

🚨 The first wave of final results is here… 🚨

These ladies have absolutely smashed it over the last 6 weeks. 💪🔥

The average weight loss across the challenge was 7–10lbs… and our biggest transformation saw an incredible 17lbs lost and TWO dress sizes dropped. 🤯👏

No magic.
No fad diets.
No cutting out your favourite foods.

Just a plan that works, accountability, and consistency. 📈

Imagine where YOU could be 6 weeks from now if you stopped waiting for the “right time” and just got started.

If you’re fed up with feeling uncomfortable in your clothes, lacking confidence, or starting over every Monday… let’s change that.

📩 I’ve got a limited number of coaching spaces available.

If you’re ready to lose body fat, build confidence, and finally make it stick, send me a DM with the word “COACH” and let’s have a chat.

🚨 Stop letting the scales ruin your Monday. 🚨

I’ve already had a few mini meltdowns from people this morning…

“Ted, I’ve put on a pound.”
“I’ve gained a kilo since the weekend!”

Take a breath… and chill. 😅

Rule number one: Don’t weigh yourself on a Monday.

Whatever happened over the weekend is far more likely to be water retention, not body fat. More carbs, more salt, alcohol, a meal out, less sleep… all of these can make the scales jump temporarily.

For example, I’m 2kg heavier today than I was on Friday.

Does that mean I’ve gained 2kg of body fat?

Absolutely not.

To gain 2kg of body fat, I’d have needed to eat around 14,000 calories ABOVE my maintenance over the weekend. That simply didn’t happen.

So instead of stressing…

✅ Get your workout done.
✅ Get your steps in.
✅ Drink plenty of water.
✅ Get back into your normal routine.

By the end of the week, that water retention will usually settle, and the scales will tell a very different story.

Don’t let one number ruin your motivation. Consistency always wins. 💪

👇 If you needed to hear this today, drop a 💪🏽 in the comments.

And if you’re fed up with the scales controlling your mood, send me “COACH” and I’ll show you how to lose body fat without obsessing over every weigh-in.

You did NOT gain 3lbs of body fat overnight.

Let’s put this into perspective…

To gain 1lb of body fat, you need to eat around 3,500 calories ABOVE your maintenance calories.

So if your fat loss calories are 1,800…
➡️ Your maintenance might be around 2,300.
➡️ You’d then need to eat 5,800 calories in a day to gain roughly 1lb of body fat.

That jump on the scales after a weekend away, a takeaway, a few drinks or a bad night’s sleep?

It’s far more likely to be water retention, not body fat.

Your weight can fluctuate because of:
• Time of the month
• Stress
• Higher carb intake
• Sugar
• Alcohol
• Salty foods
• Poor sleep
• Digestion

These are temporary.

If you’ve been consistently in a calorie deficit, you’ve still been losing body fat, even if the scales haven’t caught up yet.

Stop letting one number ruin your day.

Trust the process. Stay consistent. Keep lifting. Keep moving. Let time do the work.

The scales are just one data point… not your progress. 💪

If this helped, drop a 💪 in the comments and send it to someone who panics every time the scales go up.

And if you’re ready to lose fat without giving up the foods you love, send me a DM with the word “READY” and let’s chat.

Family really is everything ❤️

What a weekend. Every summer our family from Canada fly over, and it’s become one of those traditions we all look forward to.

A house full of laughter, all the grandkids together, cricket matches in the garden, football, BBQs, pizza from the oven, late nights, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Life gets busy, but weekends like this are a reminder of what really matters. Grateful for the time together, the laughs we shared, and making memories with the people we love most. ❤️🇬🇧🇨🇦

Here’s to doing it all again next summer. 🫶☀️

Some people rent billboards…

I just found a slightly cheaper advertising spot. 😏🏴

Minding my own business, getting my session done…

Random bloke: “You should be lifting heavier than that if you’re a PT.” 🤦‍♂️

Me: “Maybe… but I honestly couldn’t care less. I train for me.”

Then I asked him one question…

“How many dad races have you won in the last three years?”

Silence. 😶

“I’ve won the last three.”

…and I walked off.

The moral?

Stop worrying about what everyone else is lifting.

Some people train to get stronger.
Some train to lose weight.
Some train for sport.
Some train for their mental health.
Some train just to feel better.

You’re in the gym for your goals, not to impress the bloke watching everyone else’s workout.

Head down. Do the work. Go home. 👊
