💪 WHY WE DO THIS WEDNESDAY

Why do we use wall squat holds at Paragon?

Because sometimes getting stronger doesn’t mean moving a weight — sometimes it means holding a position and making your muscles work hard.

Wall squat holds work your thighs and glutes while also building muscular endurance — your ability to keep your muscles working for longer.

And they’re easy to adapt. You can start higher up the wall and hold for a shorter time, then gradually go lower, hold for longer or even add weight as you get stronger. 💪

And stronger legs make a difference to everyday life — getting out of chairs, climbing stairs, walking and keeping you moving confidently.

It might look like you’re just sitting against a wall doing nothing… but your legs definitely know otherwise! 😂

Strong legs that keep you moving — that’s what we’re really training for. 💙

One of the things we hear quite a lot…

“I need to get a bit fitter before I join a gym.”

But you really don’t.

You don’t need to know what you’re doing.
You don’t need to be able to keep up with everyone else.
And you definitely don’t need to “get fit” first.

That’s what we’re here to help you with. 💙

At Paragon, we’ll meet you where you’re at and help you get stronger, fitter and healthier from there.

You don’t have to be fit to start. You just have to start.

And preferably before your hair grows that much. 😂

💪 WHY WE DO THIS WEDNESDAY

Why do we use kettlebell swings at Paragon?

Because they give us a lot from one easy movement.

The power comes mainly from the hips — driving them forwards to get the kettlebell moving. That means your glutes and the backs of your legs are doing plenty of work, while your core and upper body help keep everything strong and controlled.

And kettlebell swings don’t just build strength. Do enough of them and you’ll soon get the heart rate up too! 😅

We can start lighter with a two-handed swing, increase the weight as you get stronger, and then progress to one-arm swings for an extra challenge to your core and stability.

Strength, power and cardio fitness — all things we want to keep for as long as possible. 💙

💪 WHY WE DO THIS WEDNESDAY

Something seems a little different about this week’s edition… can’t quite put my finger on what it is though? 💇‍♂️🤔😂

Why do we use plank holds at Paragon?

Because your core does a lot more than help you get a six-pack! 😆

A strong core helps keep your body stable and supported when you’re lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and just generally getting on with everyday life.

And planks aren’t one-size-fits-all. We can start with knees down or use a bench, then progress to a full plank and gradually increase how long you can hold it.

It might look like you’re just lying there doing absolutely nothing… but your body definitely knows otherwise! 💪

It’s not about being good at planks — it’s about building the core strength and stability that helps you move, lift and carry better in everyday life. 💙
