No joke, no punchline.
Last week I received a death threat from a caller ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
As a business, I have to publish my phone number if I want to make it easy for you all to contact me, which sadly means, sometimes, I have to deal with idiots, fortunately not often, but occasionally, it's all part of the job.
I won't go into detail about the call, suffice to say, it was a graphic description of how they intended to do it.
Now, I know that I haven't upset anyone, in either my personal or business lives, (certainly not enough to make this threat), so I was confident it was nothing more than a prank call, but, in this modern day and age, you simply can't ignore it.
I have a family and it would be remiss of me to do so.
So I reported it to the Police.
They took it extremely seriously.
After all, to threaten a life is a criminal offence, in jest or otherwise.
Today, the Police called me to confirm they'd made an arrest.
How did they do so, so quickly, you may ask?
Because the caller used their own phone and didn't hide the number ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
Yeah, I know...... That's a whole new level of stupid, but that's what they did.
I've not allowed it to fester in my head, I haven't given it much thought at all if I'm honest, but it's good to know that the Police have it in hand.
Just thought I'd share it with you all, because when you deal with the public, you do get some curve balls thrown at you.
I've had customers collapse at the workshop and need an ambulance calling , I've had cars without drivers trundle down the hill and crash into parked cars outside while I'm working, but this was something new.
The Police confirmed it was a prank call, selecting my business randomly.
Hopefully, the trouble they now find themselves in, will place them on a different path, one that leads to a positive outcome.
