Our team training this week focussed on our holisitic approach to dance training. This video highlights this approach.

At Buzz, we believe in training the whole dancer and the whole child.
Of course, technique matters. We want our dancers to develop strong foundations, musicality, artistry, creativity and an understanding of their bodies.
But a holistic approach to dance training goes much further than steps.
It’s about developing confidence and independence.
Learning resilience when something feels difficult.
Being creative and curious.
Understanding how to work with others.
Feeling safe enough to make mistakes.
Learning commitment without losing the joy of dancing.
And helping young people discover who they are as artists, rather than simply teaching them to copy us

Today we launched our brand-new class, Once Upon a Ballet, and what an amazing morning it was!

We welcomed a full class of little dancers taking their very first steps into ballet, with their “big humans” right beside them.

Our classes are based on creative pedagogy, an approach where children learn through imagination, exploration and play, rather than simply copying the teacher. The ballet was all there, beautifully hidden within the story, as we travelled down the rabbit hole and met a very naughty White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland! 🐇🩰

Thank you to all our wonderful little dancers and their big humans for joining us today. We can’t wait to see where our next story takes us!

ADULT DANCE CLASSES AT BUZZ!

Our adult classes are back from next week!

Whether you’re looking to try something new or reconnect with your love of dance, we have a class for you!

DANCE ON | General Level - Tuesdays 8.15–9pm
A fun, feel-good class for adults 18+. Keep fit, learn new moves, meet people and become part of our dance community. No experience needed!

DANCE ON | Graduate Level - Thursdays 7.30–8.15pm
For adults who trained to a high standard but didn’t pursue dance professionally. Rediscover your technique, enjoy challenging choreography and get back to doing what you love.

Both classes are FREE of charge, supported by Gateshead Council.

Places are limited and booking is essential.
