Glorious news: The Swing Era Social is on tonight at The Dark Horse — and yes, it has air con.

So if you fancy a proper dance without melting into the floorboards, come and cool off with us. Glenn’s on DJ duty, serving up feel-good swing and jazz to keep your feet moving and your head clear.

Bring a friend; grab a drink; take the floor. See you at The Dark Horse after the Fundamentals class from 8.30pm.

The Swing Era dancers - IMPROVERS & ADVENTURERS. With everyone's safety and comfort in mind, Classes at St Columba are cancelled on Thursday due to the heatwave.

FUNDAMENTALS at The Dark Horse will go ahead as normal, along with the social.

Jim’s one of our true all‑rounders; musician; DJ; dancer and an all‑round good egg. He’ll be spinning his favourite tracks with a nod to his guitar hero — the great Django Reinhardt. (also with a silent D 😉)🎶😎

Feeling cool and breezy? We are and we have such a special week ahead!

Our beginners Fundamentals 5 week course will launch at Dark Horse, Moseley with Suzanne and Graham at 7pm followed by The Swing Era social.

Hsin is joined by guest teacher Tom Moore on Thurs 3 July at Columbia Church for Improvers (7pm) and Adventures (8pm) Take this exciting opportunity to explore musicality and various speeds of movement. It feels special to have Tom teaching for five weeks as he is typically on international tour!

If our three level courses on Thursday's don't fit your timetable or quench your thirst, jump onto the Day Hopper Course, 2pm - 5pm on Sat 4 July. Master the basics of Lindy hop or deepen your individual dance style with teachers Chloe and Graham.

We are so excited, what a week!

DANCERS: Class is still on this Thursday but with a change of venue for your safety and comfort: We'll be upstairs at The Dark Horse, Moseley for Improvers (7pm) Adventures (8pm) taught by Hsin and Martyn. All are welcome downstairs to The Swing Era social from 9.15pm ish.

We know some things are cancelled due to extreme heat, but thanks to air conditioning, we are staying well hydrated and super chilled, DJ Sylv will be spinning some hot Swing classics and we'll get to connect to celebrate the end of class run.
