TRICK OR TUMBLE – HALLOWEEN ACRO CAMP❗️🎃

Something spooky is coming to Sparkles this October half term👻🕷️

Join us for a full day of acro, tumbling, flips, tricks, challenges, games and Halloween fun!

OPEN TO EVERYONE — you do not need to attend Sparkles to join us. Friends and siblings are very welcome ✨

✨ Suitable for complete beginners through to experienced acro dancers, everyone will be supported and challenged at a level suitable for them.

We’ll have THREE acro pads running, giving everyone plenty of opportunity to practise, tumble and learn new skills with our fantastic teachers! 🖤❤️

All work and no play, not for our dancer’s, Never!✨ Sparkles is about more than training it’s the friendships and memories made along the way too ❤️🖤

Sometimes a message really stops you in your tracks 🥹

Aunty Danielle was there many years ago, sitting with me for hours whilst the original mission statement for Sparkles was being written around 2007.

This mission was created long before social media became part of running a dance school, long before the wins, the competitions, the television features or the international opportunities. It wasn’t created as a marketing message after the success, it was there right at the beginning. ❤️🖤

From day one, I was adamant that every child, regardless of ability, should be given the opportunity to SPARKLE ✨

Years later, after watching our dancers feature on Central News, Aunty Danielle sent this message and it was such a reminder of just how far Sparkles has come whilst still holding onto exactly what it was created to be.

Through the growth, incredible opportunities and achievements, the heart of Sparkles has never changed.

Some children will dance recreationally.
Some will perform on incredible stages.
Some may take their dancing around the world.

But EVERY single child deserves and will be given their chance to participate and SPARKLE 💖

That was the mission then.

It’s still the mission now.

And perhaps that’s one of the things I’m most proud of.

At Sparkles we are incredibly proud to have grown to a school of over 100 dancers but growth has never meant losing sight of the individual dancer💯

Starting this academic year we are introducing a system where every dancer will receive one of our personal progress reports twice a year, completed by the teachers who work with them week after week. Currently we only offer exam written reports from external examiners and competition adjudicator feedback, this will now change!

Each report will include:

✨Personal teacher feedback on their progress
✨Their next steps, targets and goals

Our Watch Weeks are already a hugely successful part of Sparkles, giving families the opportunity to see their dancer’s progress first-hand (when they cooperate 😂) Our teachers regularly communicate with parents and guardians at drop-off and collection, and over the phone whenever a more detailed conversation is needed but these new reports are another way of keeping families involved in their dancer’s journey. As well as also giving dancers a lovely keepsake to look back on as they grow through Sparkles✨

Because being a bigger, still growing school doesn’t mean dancers become numbers or lose that attention to detail! EVERY dancer continues to be seen, supported and encouraged as an individual.
