Well done to all the athletes competing in the blazing heat and gave absolutely everything. You all smashed it and it was great to see some incredible lifting.

Thank you to everyone involved in the competition, from the fantastic venue to all the volunteers that gave up their time before, during and after the comp to set up, close down and ensure the event ran smoothly and everyone was kept safe. Without all these incredible volunteers, the comp wouldn’t be possible.

Event Rules & Information
Please read thoroughly and familiarise.

Athletes to arrive from 9am to complete registration and be warmed up and ready for lift off at 10am.

Provisional Timings
Note these are only approximate timings and are subject to change throughout the day. We will plan to go from one event into the next event. Timings could change but this will be the order of events and categories which won’t change. Please keep an eye out to what’s going on during the day so you can be ready for each event.

Event One: 10:00
ALL CATEGORIES: Pressing medley
Order of categories
1. First Timers
2. Novice
3. Inters
4. Open

Event Two: 11:30 approx
ALL CATEGORIES: Deadlifts

Platform 1: First Timers then Inters
Platform 2: Novice then Open

Event Three: 12:30 approx
First Timers and Novice: Farmers Walk
Inters and Open: Yoke

Lane 1: Farmers Walk
Lane 2: Yoke

Event Four: 1:30 approx
ALL CATEGORIES: Sandbag Carry

Lane 1: First Timers then Inters
Lane 2: Novice then Opens

Event Five: 2:30 approx
ALL CATEGORIES: Stone over Yoke

Yoke 1: First Timers and Inters
Yoke 2: Novice and Opens

Event Rules

Pressing Medley:
Event will start with hands on.
Listen for the down commands.
Control the descent, no throwing from the top.
Fastest time wins.
You can miss implements if you need to but more implements trumps time. For example all objects in 36 seconds would beat 3 objects in 28 seconds.
Time cap of 60 seconds.

Deadlifts
Straps and suits allowed, no sumo.
Must wait for the down command, shoulders must be locked, no soft knees.
No touch and go, must come to a dead stop. No bouncing.

Farmers Walk & Yoke
No lifting straps or grip aids allowed.
Chalk is obviously fine.
One straight 20M run, front of farmers/yoke must cross the line. No sliding, this will incur a time penalty.
Make sure you test and give your Yoke height to the team before the start of the competition. The order of the event will go in height order.

Sandbag Carry
Event starts hands on.
One straight 20m run.
Fastest time wins.

Stone over Yoke
Tacky, tape, sleeves allowed
Stone must go over yoke and land the other side of yoke.

Please be respectful of the club and event staff. Everyone working the event is a volunteer that’s working tremendously hard to give you an epic comp. Referees decisions are final.

Please keep an eye on the event during the day to ensure you’re ready to compete. Finally enjoy the competition. Spectators will be in attendance to watch you put on a show and cheer you on. Have a fantastic day, good luck!

Amazing day out Saturday and haven’t laughed that much in a long time. From getting stuck in the woods to sinking bikes in bogs to steep hill climbs and steeper descents. Rain held of the sun was out.
