Excellent windy day at the lake today! Congratulations the people completing RYA Level 1 in the Comet Trios.

Last weekend we were delighted to host a Open at Shustoke Sailing Club. Although the wind was light, 15 boats took part, with 8 visitors coming to join the home boats.

Comet open meeting at Shustoke Sailing Club Shustoke Sailing Club welcomed a fleet of 15 Comets for its annual Open Meeting, including eight visitors who had travelled from clubs across the country, including Baltic Wharf, Beer, Burghfield, Eyott, Nottingham and Staunton Harold.

Yesterday we hosted a brilliant Solo Open. 20 boats fought each other and the heavy winds. We had an amazing 15 club boats and 5 visitors which is the highest turn out for a Midlands Solo Open this year. Tom, winner of 40 major championships in ten separate classes joined us and won the event followed by Jamie with 2 seconds.

Sunshine has been difficult to find this winter, so when Shustoke Sailing Club threw down the Gauntlet to visitors to race against them on Sunday 1st March, 23 visiting boats took up the challenge and were treated to some rare winter sun.
