Heavy club or light club? If the club sets too late in the swing in can lead to a top of the backswing lacking structure, and that was the case for Tom

Once we had the club a little more under control and gave him some simple external cues around where to land the club the strike improved dramatically

I was at new Kingdom at the Grove recently with and when you can test clubs in the same session and see the data there’s no hiding!

If your bag isn’ set up correctly your more than likely going to develop faults to compensate for those clubs, not a great recipe

If your speed is reducing you really need to take those long irons out and throw something in that’s actually going to help, like a 9 wood….. and you’ll be in good company as both Tommy Fleetwood and myself are proud 9 wood users!!! 😁

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, and I’ll keep saying it, your backswing matters…. a lot!

Yes it’s all about impact and changing the impact factors to change the ball flight, but you don’t always have to directly work on the downswing or impact, sometimes just changing where the downswing starts from can get you pretty close to where you want to be

And, a backswing change is very often easier than a change later on in the swing, so often wise to start there if you can
