Bike Week Celebration at Saheli Hub
We celebrated Bike Week yesterday with a lovely community lunch at Saheli Hub, bringing people together to share stories, make connections, and share our love of cycling.
At Saheli Hub, cycling is just one part of what we do, but it is a powerful part. For over two decades, we've supported women and communities to learn, lead, and enjoy cycling, and we've trained more than 4,000 women along the way.
Our cycling programmes include:
π² Learn to Ride
π² Park Riding
π² Led Road Rides
π² Inclusive Cycling Group ( Adapated Bike sessions)
π² Cycling Expeditions (UK wide)
π² Brompton Bike Loan Scheme
π² Men Only & Women Only Sessions
π² Free Bike Scheme for residents of Ward End, Alum Rock, Balsall Heath East & West, and Sparkbrook
π² Training support and mentoring for local ride leaders and Instructors
You can currently find us at:
π Ward End Park
π Calthorpe Park
π Cannon Hill Park
π Ackers Adventure
New locations coming soon!
We are proud to create spaces where cycling is accessible, welcoming, and community-led, whether someone is just starting out, returning to cycling after a break, riding socially to make new friends, or building confidence to cycle for everyday journeys and commuting.
One of the things we love most is the connections that are built through our sessions. With participants ranging from teenagers to our oldest rider, aged 83, we truly believe it's never too late to start cycling.
Bikes and helmets are provided, so all you need to bring is yourself.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday at Calthorpe Hub and to all those who continue to be part of this incredible journey.

West Midlands Police regularly drop in at Saheli Calthorpe Wellbeing Hub to meet local residents, hear concerns, and share crime prevention advice. These friendly community surgeries are a chance to speak face-to-face with neighborhood officers in a safe and welcoming space.
Held every month at Saheli Hub, the sessions help our community feel heard, supported, and protected. For more information or to register interest, call 0121 446 6137.
