What if one of the best ways to feel better didn’t come in a bottle, an app or an expensive treatment?
What if it was simply moving your body? 💜💚
A major new study published in Nature Human Behaviour analysed almost one million hours of physical activity and more than 320,000 wellbeing ratings from over 8,000 people.
The findings were exciting:
✨ Moving more was linked with feeling better afterwards
✨ Feeling better made people more likely to move again
✨ The strongest link wasn’t just happiness — it was energy
In other words, movement and wellbeing can create a positive cycle.
At Move it or Lose it, we see this every week. People may join because they know they “should” exercise, but they stay for the laughter, friendships, confidence and feel-good energy they gain along the way.
Our latest Turn Back the Clock: The Age-Defying Edit blog explores why moving more can help you feel better — and why feeling better can help you keep moving.

A little care helps your band last longer 💜💚
Resistance bands are a brilliant way to build strength, keep muscles working and support everyday movement — but just like any piece of exercise equipment, they need a little care to stay safe and effective.
Here are a few simple ways to look after yours:
✅ Don’t overstretch it
Stretching your band too far can weaken it and increase the risk of it breaking. Ask your instructor for advice if you’re unsure which strength of band is right for you.
✅ Clean it gently
Avoid harsh detergents or sanitising sprays. Wash your band in warm soapy water, dry it on a towel, then hang it up to dry away from direct heat or sunshine.
✅ Keep it away from sharp objects
Avoid using or storing your band near anything sharp or rough that could puncture, nick or damage the material.
✅ Store it safely
Don’t leave your band outside, in a cold place, in direct sunlight or near heat sources, as this can make the material weaker or brittle.
✅ Check it regularly
Look out for small tears, thinning, fraying or signs of wear. If your band looks damaged, it’s time to replace it.
With good care, a resistance band used by an individual will usually last around 12–18 months, but it should always be replaced sooner if there are any signs of damage.
A little care helps keep your band safe, strong and ready for your next class.

Did you know we’ve launched a brand-new type of Move it or Lose it class? 💜💚
Introducing our Strength & Balance classes for seniors — a fresh, fun and progressive way to build strength, improve balance and boost confidence.
These classes use a circuit-style format, with different Activity Stations around the room. You’ll spend a short time at each station before taking a break and moving on to the next activity.
Each station is designed to support a different part of your fitness, including:
✅ Building strength
✅ Improving balance
✅ Supporting heart health
✅ Increasing confidence with everyday movement
And of course, you’ll still enjoy everything you love about a Move it or Lose it class — great music, a welcoming atmosphere, friendly instructors and exercises designed with older adults in mind.
One class a week is a brilliant start, but when it comes to strength and balance, regular practice really matters. That’s why these classes are a fantastic way to add an extra session into your week, complement your regular Move it or Lose it class and keep building confidence between sessions.
The circuit format also allows you to follow a more personalised programme, helping you gradually build up your strength, try more challenging exercises when you’re ready and feel steadier in daily life.
If you already attend a Move it or Lose it class, ask your instructor if they’re delivering Strength & Balance classes too.
