From a 10-year-old picking up clubs for the first time to a qualified PGA Professional coaching the next generation of golfers, Cameron Edmonds’ journey is proof of what happens when talent meets an inclusive, supportive community.

For Cameron, our Hatchford Brook Golf Centre & Gym in Birmingham isn’t just a place of work; it’s his second home.

Golf can sometimes carry a stereotype of being exclusive but, at Mytime Active, we are incredibly proud to champion a different kind of culture. Hatchford Brook is a place where anyone, no matter their background, can feel a genuine sense of belonging.

As Cameron puts it: “Golf can still have connotations of being posh or snobby and people often presume I’m from a rich background, which is certainly not the case. I’m just a kid from Birmingham who was given the chance to play golf and has made it into a career. However, the culture at Hatchford Brook & Gym is ideal for new golfers and for people like me who are working towards a career, without feeling out of place.”

Now Cameron is paying it forward, fostering a warm and welcoming environment for the juniors he coaches every week.

“Those same values of inclusivity and genuine passion for the game are still alive in the club today... It gave me the best opportunities in life and is a place I’m so proud to call my home club.”

A very special day yesterday to finally pick up my tie and blazer to celebrate the start of my PGA professional journey. Was great to catch up with so many familiar faces and have family around to share this moment with!

Here’s to many more years growing the game and enjoying every step of the journey. I’m grateful for everyone who has supported me to this point so far with my business/ coaching and own personal development! Here’s to the next stages
