BLACK COUNTRY SUPER LEAGUE
GAME 3 ⚫️⚪️🔴
This week saw the team playing at home to the Cue & Brew. After a good first 2 games they were in high spirits but it wasn’t to be as they faces the first loss of the season with a gutting 5-0L.
GAME 1 - Dave Hopkins was up first. Going 3-1 up very steadily it looked to be the game to set us up for a competitive match. However his opponent came straight back with a 13 Dart Leg which may have spurred him on to win the next leg, although in a scrappy fashion, it brought level, and the first game was down to a deciding leg. Dave struggled to keep up with the scoring and unfortunately lost. End result being 3-4 Loss with a 53.59avr
GAME 2 - Liam Fox up next, Searching for his first super league win. He came against a great opponent who flew out the blocks with a 15 Dart Leg. Liam missing darts in the next leg was the turning point as his opponent went on to win that one and the next 2 legs in 15 and 18 Darts scoring 3 Maximums. Unfortunately Liam didn’t get his win this week and lost 0-4 with a 65.86avr
GAME 3 - John Evitts was on 3rd, a Huge ask for him as he’d have needed to win for the team to have a chance to come back into it. He had a great first leg, winning it in 18 Darts. The doubles weren’t so kind in the next leg, as he missed 6 darts by very fine margins and his opponent brought it to 1-1. John struggled to keep up with the heavy scoring of his opponent and that put him on the back foot, not getting another shot at a double. John lost 1-4 with a 66.35 avr
GAME 4 - Matty Lloyd on 4th. With the game already lost it was just a case of limiting the damage. Although not being behind by much to his opponent, matty only had two shots at a finish in the entire match. His opponent had a great 4th leg in 14 Darts, and in the end it was a 0-4 loss for Matty with a 70.62
GAME 5 - Final game of the night. Alfie Busby stepped up for his first game of this season. Having stepped out in the first couple of games to give new players some game time, as well as having been struggling with his own game, he was apprehensive. But in the end he played some steady darts against a good opponent. It was a tight game through, going 3-1 down it was a challenge to get back into it, but hitting a 180 and a 14 dart leg drove him on to bring it to a deciding leg. Scoring was matched closely all throughout the last leg but missed darts from Alfie saw him losing 4-3 with a 75.27avr
🎯In the end our Northfield boys lost 5-0, it was always going to be a tough game but the score line doesn’t reflect the close game that was played.

GAME 2 ⚫️⚪️🔴
This week the boys played away to the Lamp Tavern in Dudley.
GAME 1 - Dave Hopkins was up first, not being able to find any consistent scoring. It wasn’t his best game and he unfortunately lost 4-1 with a 44.70 avr
GAME 2 - Next up Matty Lloyd, calm and steady. Missing a few darts in the first leg was out of character for him but still winning the leg spurred him on and he breezed through with a 4-0 win and a 62.53 avr.
GAME 3 - John Evitts was next up. Wonderful scoring throughout, and this weeks highest average. Great game for him and a lovely 4-0 win with a 66.80 avr.
GAME 4 - Debutant Liam Fox was up 4th. Scoring steady in his first superleague game wasn’t enough for him to get a win as missed doubles let him down massively. Losing 4-0 with a 55.70 avr but we’ll definitely see more in the future.
GAME 5 - Once again the game going down to a Decider and Mark Hopkins stepped up to the oche, always confident to trust himself in a tiebreak…
Although winning the first leg, it was a slow start with a few missed doubles, but it may have set a fire in him as he went on to win the next 2 legs in quick succession, with one of them being a 14 Darter. A drop in scoring let his opponent back in but he came back to win the last leg. Leaving the board with a 4-1 win and a 59.21 avr.
That’s 2 wins in 2 games for our boys on a Wednesday. A great start to the season and we’re definitely confident to continue this form throughout.🎯🎯

BLACK COUNTRY SUPER LEAGUE
GAME 1
First game of the 2026/27 season saw our Wednesday boys playing the New Inns at home.
Set 1 - Debutant Harry Franklin had a tough feat for his first game. Scoring steady and finding his feet, but only having 1 dart at double against a great 96.97avr performance from his opponent. Harry unfortunately lost 4-0 with a 73.15avr. Some great points to take and we’re sure we’re going to see a lot more from him this season.
Set 2 - Mark Hopkins stepped up next, having had a couple of seasons in super league at Northfield, we were sure he was going to be steady and composed at the board. A couple
Of scrappy legs cost him some average points, but he was more than comfortable on doubles and put away a tidy 4-0 win with a 55.16avr
Set 3 - Dave Hopkins was next up. Having only played a few super league games last season he was eager to step up and get a win on the board. Flying out the blocks with a convincing first 3 legs. A drop in scoring gave his opponent the chance to fight back into the game, but after a tight deciding leg Dave stepped up and pinned D7 with ease. Winning 4-3 with a 59.68avr.
Set 4 - John Evitts was 4th to the board. It was a tough game to find any consistency, but he stuck in every leg trying to get a hold of it. Going 1-0 down He had a great leg of scoring and equalled it up to 1-1, but his opponent ran ahead with the game and John lost 4-1 with a 62.31avr.
Set 5 - DECIDING GAME… Matty Lloyd walked up to the oche with confidence. The team were more than happy with the deciding game going down to him. Straight out with an 18 Dart leg we knew it was always going to be his. Following on with a great composed performance to win his game 4-1 with a 71.86avr, and to win the team a great first game of the season.
Steve Busby and Alfie Busby sat out this week but I’m sure we’ll see them in action soon.
