A Fantastic Start to a Lifelong Health Journey! πΏ
Today at Newtown Medical Centre, we welcomed a new group of participants to the first session of our 7-Week Diabetes Management Programme.
A huge thank you to our diabetic-friendly chef, Julie, who demonstrated how simple, delicious and nutritious healthy eating can be.
Our participants enjoyed learning how to prepare three diabetes-friendly recipes straight from our diabetes recipe book:
π₯ Carrot, Walnut & Feta Salad
π Fresh Fruit Cocktail with Yogurt
π« Mixed Bean Salad
These colourful dishes are packed with flavour, fibre and nutrients to help support better blood sugar management while proving that healthy food doesn't have to be boring!
Today marks the beginning of a 7-week course, but more importantly, the start of a lifelong journey towards improved health, wellbeing and positive lifestyle change.
We reminded participants that lasting success comes from taking small, achievable steps. Just like climbing a ladder, each healthy choice is another rung that takes you closer to your goals.
Over the coming weeks, participants will gain practical knowledge, support and confidence to make sustainable changes to their diet, activity levels and overall wellbeing.
We look forward to supporting everyone on their journey and celebrating every step forward.

We were delighted to attend the Community Wellbeing Event at Nechells Practice on Wednesday where we recruited participants living with Type 2 Diabetes for our final community programme of the summer.
The level of interest has been incredible, and we are extremely grateful for the continued support from the local community and our partners. The response to our programmes has been outstanding, with places filling quickly as more people take positive steps towards improving their health and wellbeing.
Thursday marked the first session of our programme at Nechells POD, and we were pleased to welcome a fantastic turnout. Our opening session focused on healthy eating, featuring a live cooking demonstration with delicious diabetes-friendly recipes and tasters, which were enjoyed by all attendees.
It's not too late to join us! Next week, our Nutritional Therapist will be leading an informative session on diet and lifestyle, providing practical advice and support to help participants make sustainable, healthy changes.
We are also excited to be working more closely with GP practices on our forthcoming programmes, enabling us to support even more people within our communities.
