Life has been busy for many reasons over the last few weeks, so socials have been a little quiet!
Our lovely boy Quest has been a bit under the weather — quite literally since the weather changed back to something rather more British and brought all that grass back with it! 🌧️🌱
We knew he just wasn’t quite himself, so our vet came out and ran some bloods. They showed that his liver is under quite a bit of strain at the moment, so he’s started treatment and will have some further tests and repeat bloods to make sure everything is heading back in the right direction.
Interestingly, our vet has seen quite a few similar cases since the rain arrived and the grass suddenly returned after the heatwave, and thankfully the horses he has seen have all gone on to make a full recovery.
Quest himself is bright, happy and happily grazing, and following our vet’s advice he should be able to return to his normal routine next week while we continue to support him and keep an eye on his bloods.
It’s a good reminder that we know these ponies incredibly well — sometimes there isn’t anything dramatically “wrong”, you just know when one isn’t quite themselves. We’re very glad we listened to that little feeling with Quest.
