Part 20 — A Bullet Made of Pure Muscle!

Of all the fish we saw, the tuna really demonstrated just how differently these animals have evolved.

Streamlined, immensely powerful and built around speed.

Even preserved in the collection, you can see exactly what James means.

Part 19 — The British Record ELECTRIC RAY!

Just when I thought we’d seen everything in this tank, James showed us another remarkable specimen.

Seeing record fish preserved like this rather than simply reading their names in a record book was something else.

Part 17 — What’s Inside These Giant Museum Tanks?

We’d been walking past these enormous tanks without really knowing what was beneath the surface.

Then James opened one.

And this was where the collection somehow became even more impressive.

Part 18 — A British Record EAGLE RAY!

Opening the tanks revealed an incredible mixture of specimens — from strange deep-water fish to something with a direct connection to British angling history.

A British record eagle ray.

And the tank still had more surprises waiting for us.

No fish… but I’d do it all again.

My first Tide Together social didn’t produce a fish for me, but I came away from Seaford in a better mood than when I arrived.

I met some brilliant people, spoke to anglers who are genuinely passionate about sea fishing and experienced a completely different side of the sport.

Sometimes the best thing you take home from a fishing session isn’t a fish.

A massive thank you to Steve and everyone at Tide Together for having me along.

Now we just need to find some fish next time!

I blanked… but strangely, I wasn’t disappointed.

Nobody enjoys finishing a fishing session without catching, especially after putting the effort in.

But looking back at everything else that had happened throughout the day, I realised the fishing was only one part of it.

And I certainly wasn’t going home disappointed.

Part 16 — The Jaws of a GREAT WHITE Shark!

Among all the historic fish and unusual specimens was something instantly recognisable.

The jaws of a great white shark.

Seeing the size of those teeth up close gives you a very different appreciation of the animal they’re attached to!

THE BEACH OF BROKEN DREAMS? 🎣

Chesil Beach has a reputation.

You see the incredible sessions — huge shoals of mackerel and bream, big bass, rays and even cod. But for every one of those stories, there seems to be another from someone who travelled all that way and left disappointed.

Having never fished Chesil before, it was finally my turn to find out which version of the beach I was going to get.

First cast. First rig in the water. Everything crossed.

🎥 The full Chesil Beach film is now live on YouTube — I’ll leave the link in the comments below.

Would Chesil Beach Live Up to the Hype? 🎣

When you’ve seen so many incredible catches come from one stretch of coastline, it’s hard not to arrive with expectations.

But Chesil has another reputation too — plenty of anglers make the journey only to leave disappointed.

With the wind blowing an absolute hoolie, the first rig finally went out. Now it was time to find out which version of Chesil we were going to get…

Part 14 — This Fish Was Thought Extinct for 70 MILLION Years!

The coelacanth was known from fossils long before a living specimen was discovered in 1938.

Its rediscovery became one of the most remarkable moments in the history of fish science.

And here we were standing inches away from one.
