🚨 RESULTS 🚨
💯 It was a fantastic day at Lower Park as the 1s finished their campaign in style with a 179-run win against Hagley. Our 16-year-old ‘keeper-batter Austin Ball produced a wonderful 121, his first century in the 1s (hint: there will be many more of these in the future)!
💯 Rob Combes then produced the 1s’ second century of the season with a fantastic 110* as the pair produced an epic 183-run partnership!
The day was an incredibly exciting showing of the club’s bright future (Rob included?) as fellow 16-year-olds Harry Carr and Luca Evans claimed three wickets each, while Tom Odell (19) took four to finish the season on a league-leading 59 wickets to go with his team-leading 580 runs.
It was a brutal end to the 2s’ season, who suffered relegation on the final day. Despite defeating Harborne handsomely thanks to a solid team effort with the ball and 65 from Martyn Carr, results elsewhere didn’t go our way.
Despite the final result, there are many positives to be taken from the season for the 2s, including the development of young stars like Luke Corrigan, Dan Smith, Leo Boardman and Ted Mauger.
With cricket concluding for the summer, we’d like to say a massive thanks to everyone supporting the club, we simply don’t exist without all of your efforts 💙💛
