Another fabulous event in the sunshine.☀️ Using the alternative finish worked well and we didn't disturb the cattle. 🐄🐂 The timekeepers and token team stayed in sync⏱️so it was easy to process the results💻 and all the finish tokens were returned. 😁

Thank you to today's terrific team of volunteers 🦺and well done to all the runners and walkers 🏃🚶‍♀️who battled their way round the course in very blustery conditions. 💨

🐄🐂 The cattle have changed their mooovements recently and have been crossing our course near the finish funnel as some people have been finishing. We have to keep everyone safe and give way to other users of the Westwood so we’re going to use the alternative finish until further notice. Cattle may appear anywhere on the course so please follow our Cattle Code:
Look out for cattle. 👀
Don’t get too close to cattle. 🏃🏃‍♀️ 🐄🐂
Slow down when passing cattle. ⚠️
Stop and wait if cattle start to cross in front of you. ✋
Take extra care if you are with a dog. 🐾🐾
Follow instructions from marshals. 🦺

Please gather at the start as usual and if you’re joining us for the first time don’t miss the welcome briefing for first timers at 08.50 next to the flag. Leanne will tell you all you need to know about our parkrun.

Report #264 Roger that!

Huge thank you to all who followed the cattle code today. It seems their new routine is to head to the water trough at the mid point of our event. Stopping and letting the cattle through is absolutely the right thing to do along with following marshals instructions. Another great, safe event. Happy long weekend to you all.

The Westwood is looking properly green and ready to welcome all you runners, walkers, volunteers and supporters for event #264. A big thankyou to everyone who has stepped up to fill our volunteer roster🦺but we could do with another marshall or 2 and help with close down. If you are free in the morning, please comment below or email [email protected] with your barcode A number.

If you are new to parkrun or visiting the Westwood for the first time, Megan will conduct the first-timers briefing at the flag at 8:50.
Cindy is in charge as our Run Director and she will set you off at 9am 😊

It will be another lovely fresh morning with a light breeze. The surface may be a bit damp so be careful of that and our usual divots etc. And, of course, follow the Cattle Code. If you are unsure of anything, please ask at the Welcome desk or any of our wonderful, smiley volunteers will be more than happy to help!👕😁
