Sparta Belfast Futsal Club is looking for a Travelling Team Doctor to join our delegation for the UEFA Futsal Champions League in Athens, Greece, from 25–30 August 2026.

Following yesterday's official UEFA draw, Sparta Belfast Futsal Club are heading to Athens, Greece this August! 🇬🇷⚽️

We are now inviting expressions of interest from ambitious, enthusiastic physiotherapists or sports therapists to support our senior squad through preparation and tournament week for our European campaign.

📍 Preparation Training: Ulster University Jordanstown (UUJ) | Mondays & Wednesdays
📅 Tournament Commitment: 25th–30th August (Tuesday–Sunday)

Sparta Belfast Futsal Club is delighted to officially announce the signing of Northern Ireland international Lee McMenemy ahead of the 2026/27 season!

Lee, who previously played for Omagh Futsal Club, played a pivotal role in Northern Ireland’s historic qualification for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Main Round. He adds pedigree to our squad as we gear up for our domestic defence and upcoming UEFA Champions League campaign.

🎙️ First Team Manager, Pedro Gomes has had this to say about the new signing:
“I am delighted that Lee has chosen to join us for the next step of his career. He possesses incredible talent, hunger, and a fantastic work ethic. Our focus now is providing the right environment to help him fulfill his potential.”

Academy Excellence: Goalkeepers on the Rise 🧤

Sparta Belfast Academy is incredibly proud to celebrate a massive week of achievements from our 2010/11 goalkeeper cohort, with both Ethan and Jake flying the flag for the club during the off-season.

🏆 Ethan | European Stage Challenge
Ethan is currently out in Italy at the prestigious Montesilvano Futsal Cup, guesting for Joga Futsal Academy. After a fantastic performance to progress through the group stages, Ethan and his teammates finished 5th overall in the U15 section.

Closer to home, we are absolutely delighted to announce that Jake has been named Senior Goalkeeper of the Year at the .

We love seeing our academy players excel and push their development across all platforms. This accolade is a direct testament to Jake's relentless work ethic and dedication throughout the entire season. Massive congratulations, Jake!

Sparta Belfast Futsal Club can confirm the departure of former England international Ryon Leyshon.

Ryon initially came out of retirement to join the club in 2023, going on to give us three incredible seasons defined by his high energy, goalscoring ability, and fantastic character in the dressing room.

During his time at Sparta, Ryon secured multiple domestic league titles and represented the club at the highest level during our 2024/25 and 2025/26 UEFA Futsal Champions League campaigns.

Ryon departs with the warmest and best wishes of everyone at Sparta Belfast. Thank you for everything you brought to the club, Ryon 🔴⚫️

Sparta Belfast Futsal Club can confirm the departure of pivot Chris Boyle.

An important part of the Sparta family since 2022, Chris has been an example of commitment, dedication, and positive influence within the squad.

During his time at the club, Chris helped secure multiple domestic league titles and represented Sparta on the elite stage during our 2022/23 UEFA Futsal Champions League campaign.

Chris departs with the absolute best wishes of everyone at the club. Thank you for your contribution to our history, Chris 🔴⚫️

Pot 3 Secured For UEFA Draw! 🌍📈

History made. Ahead of next Wednesday’s Champions League draw, Sparta Belfast has reached another new milestone.

For the first time ever, we have broken into Pot 3 for the Preliminary Round, climbing to a club record-breaking 47th in the European club coefficient rankings.

Nyon awaits next Wednesday. Let’s see where Europe takes us! 🔴⚫️
