🏁 SLYS 2026 FINALE! ⛵️

We’re heading into the final event of the 2026 Strangford Lough Youth Series and we’re finishing the season with a slightly different format!

The morning will feature an optional coach-led training session on the water, giving sailors the chance to get some extra coaching, work on their skills and prepare for the final races of the series.

⛵️ SLYC Youth Series – Making the Most of the Day! ⛵️

A slightly different day on the water for the 4th leg of the SLYS at Strangford Lough Yacht Club!

With very little wind, we managed just one race, but the spirit on the water was second to none.

With plenty of laughter and smiles on every boat, sailors made the most of the conditions…rafting up with friends, enjoying time on the water and showing that Youth Series days are about so much more than racing!

A huge thank you to Strangford Lough Yacht Club, the race team, safety crews, volunteers, coaches and parents for another great event.

The Strangford Lough Youth Series is heading to Strangford Lough Yacht Club on Sunday 23rd August for the penultimate event of the 2026 series!

With the series heading towards its final stages, there are still valuable points up for grabs, so we’re looking forward to another competitive day of racing on the Lough. 🏆

⛵️ QYC Gores Island Youth Series – Finally Back! ⛵️

What a fantastic day for the Quoile Yacht Club leg of the Strangford Lough Youth Series! 🌊

After being unable to run the Gores Island race since 2024, it was brilliant to finally get back out there and race around Gores Island once again!

With 30 boats taking to the water in light but great sailing conditions, it was another fantastic day of competitive racing. It was great to see our young sailors putting their skills to the test, building confidence and continuing to develop throughout the season.

A huge thank you to Quoile Yacht Club for hosting, along with the race team, safety crews, volunteers, coaches and parents who make these events possible.

Well done to all our sailors who took part, and congratulations to today’s prize winners! 👏

QYC Youth Series…Second time lucky? 🤞

After the QYC Youth Series was postponed due to the weather, we’re hoping for better conditions this Sunday 9th August as we try again!

Join us at Quoile Yacht Club for another exciting day of junior racing on the Lough.

EDYC Youth Series.

The Strangford Lough Youth Series headed to East Down Yacht Club today for another fantastic day of racing, with thwo races completed in excellent sailing conditions.

Over 30 sailors took to the water, producing some incredibly close racing and showcasing the skills they’ve developed throughout the season. It was great to see growing confidence, smart tactical decisions and plenty of determination across the fleet.

A huge thank you to East Down Yacht Club for hosting today’s event, along with the race team, safety crews, volunteers, coaches Jakub & Abbie, and all of the parents and supporters who continue to make the series such a success.

Congratulations to all of today’s prize winners, and well done to every sailor who took part, you should all be proud of your efforts.

We now look ahead to the next event of the Strangford Lough Youth Series at Quoile Yacht Club on Sunday 9th August. We can’t wait to see you all there!

Another opportunity to get out on the water, sharpen your racing skills, and build confidence alongside sailors from across the Lough.
